Lizardbeth's Tale

I went to San Diego! I have now met and hung out with the lovely and talented frolicndetour and nicole_anell. Yay!

nicole_anell was actually AT con and I'm sure will have many interesting things to say about what she saw in her report. But all I can tell you is:

a. It's crowded. Even on the outside.

b. Little kids look cute dressed up as anything. I should have taken a picture of the Wee!Thor (since it reminded me of someone else's Baby Thor.... *g* ).

c. SOMEONE WAS STABBED! IN THE EYE!

or, not quite, but it was an awesome story. It made the paper and everything. Seat dispute gone wrong. (clearing between panels in the future? I think so, after this.)

But despite our half-hearted attempt at nerdery dork-dom geekery by not attending the con, I'm pretty sure frolicndetour and I made up for it with fangirl discussions. I showed off my loot collection and we jointly decided that our guilt over our unfinished help_haiti projects is destroying our souls, and we really should do something, asap.

I might have also overshared my kidlet-inspired animal knowledge when we went to the zoo. Random trivia on polar bears, I HAS IT! FYI: six year old humans and two-year-old gorillas are EXACTLY THE SAME. (and omg so cute)

Speaking of, she's also the only one of you fannish friends to have spent much time with the short person. yes, you can be jealous now. :)

And also, I had very bad Parking Karma. What did I DO, universe??

I went to the Battlestar Galactica Auction Part 2 (preview day). I saw the props and the costumes AND THE SHIPS (including the Raider I took a bazillion pictures of because it is JUST THAT COOL). And I caught up with ebneter, though sadly, no MrsMoD. Partnered with a guy named Justin to take each other's photos. We had a good time pretending we were bitter exes, whose only thing left in common was BSG. (we were a bit giddy, but Justin, if you happen to drop by, SAY HI!)

We were giddy because, contrary to my expectation, MY TIMING WAS PERFECT.

Oh my... this turned out... long. But it's the whole thing.

I attended the BSG/Stargate Creation Con in Burbank again last weekend, Nov 16 -18. This year was especially awesome, since I got to meet lyssie, sabaceanbabe, lucyparavel, greycoupon, mamaboolj, ebneter, and mrsMayorofDogsville from Kindreds. And some others whose fannish nicknames I didn't get.

You are all even more awesome in person. Just so's you know. :)

And as always my pictures are crap because I don't have enough zoom and the ballroom lighting is orange. My photoshop skillz are not great, but I tried to make the actors at least recognizable. There are only a handful, so not too many to suffer through. (you can find someone else's better pics when you're done)
