- Thanks for the birthday wishes! I had a lovely day, and then a post-bday-dinner on Friday with family.
- If anyone is interested in an invite to join Archive of Our Own (AO3) for posting your fics, I have one up for grabs.
- I have joined the ranks of actual stereotype. Yes, I'm now officially a Soccer Mom. :) Go RAPTORS! :DD (we were thisclose to being the Panthers, which I wanted just because the countersign to "Go Panthers" was, of course, "C-Bucs Rule". yes, I'm a Soccer Mom, but they'll be prying my fan badge from my cold dead fingers)
- Watching "Sherlock Holmes" (the RDJ version on tv -- which was amusingly mis-identified as the BBC version) -- when the big dude comes out, kidlet asked: "is he a robot?"
THAT'S MY BOY! :DD
- Short notes on Vampire Diaries: It's awesome. !!!! Katherine PWNS everyone, everywhere. Bonnie rules. Stefan is badass and smart and in so much trouble, now that he's got the cobra's attention back on him. Damon's a dick. I'd stake him if I were Elena and get him out of his own misery. He's pretty and funny, but pathetic.
CAROLINE!!! cannot wait.
- Nikita. Has potential. I've seen a few of the old show, but wasn't in love with it, so I don't really care how they compare. Strangely I am already plotting a vid. it's a very visual show. And also, needs to cross with Covert Affairs (which I am still behind on)
But really, the thing that's getting to me most about these two shows? It seems like 80% of the commentary after both shows - mostly elsewhere - has something to do about the 'chemistry' or lack thereof between various pairings.
Can we retire this overused dog of a word? People use it as if it's some sort of objective standard for analysis, when usually it's just code for "I like this pairing" or "I think they're both hot."
"chemistry": You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.
