1. I think I will run an SCC exchange. Yuletide has 11 requesters right now, and 50 offerers, and even presuming half of those people aren't in the "fandom" as such, there are also people in the fandom who are not doing Yuletide. Which is enough.

2. But hard on the heels of the first, with SCC having a fairly visible presence in Yuletide, I won't start even taking prompts until after Christmas. It's entirely possible since Yuletide matching is random that SCC could end up with all 11 people getting their requests written, or none of them. Let's see what the fic turn out actually is and give people some time to think of new prompts.

3. Which will put the exchange right over the new episodes. Which is not ideal. Bah. I'm sure other people are less neurotic about canon/getting jossed than I am, but still, it might make people hesitate when they don't know what's coming.

4. So maybe this should be a hiatus project? But that puts it so far away...

Thoughts?

speaking of...

DEAR CHUCK FANDOM -
you need your own Secret Santa exchange next year. 30 requests is not a "small fandom".
Because one pic isn't enough - and why post pics of trees or butterflies or whatever when I could be posting pics of my imaginary boyfriends?

yo, you think there might be photos under here? yeah, you'd be right )

I may add to this as the day and night goes on... and on... and on...
Next random person to ask if I voted, I'm going to tell them that felons can't vote, thankyouverymuch, and fuck with their heads.
It occurred to me while whacking down various fandoms for being too large for Yuletide, that Sarah Connor Chronicles is really quite big enough to run its own fest. But I don't know if it's just my own inner crazy person who thinks this is a good idea...

Because the fandom is good-sized, but not enormous, I'm thinking we probably need a fairly flexible requirement (i.e. people could request three things - but they couldn't be all the same pairing, or allow a pairing to be written gen).

So thus, A POLL!

[Poll #1288004]

gah. NO, I DON'T HAVE ENOUGH TO DO, thanks for asking. *head desk*
Thanks for your germs!

Luckily I feel just mildly icky and I was still able to write. 2000 words of fic - and probably some of the hardest 2000 words I've ever done - eight characters, eight agendas. All talking.

Can I blow shit up now plz?

Not much to say about Sarah Connor Chronicles, Mousetrap:

Except - HEY, I've been there. )

I am still avoiding Heroes spoilers since we had a dvr issue and I still haven't seen it.

*sniff*
*cough*
This eight o'clock timeslot sucks - Rugrat didn't seem to understand the concept of going to bed tonight and was up and down the entire hour. gah.

NEXT WEEK: DVR. Which will make me even later than everyone else, BUT at least we can watch it in peace.

Samson and Delilah -- badassery )

And I am now going to be weirded out whenever I have any Garbage songs on shuffle. THANKS SHOW!

Watching TSSC: "What He Beheld" again. Damn, this episode is awesome. We were just flicking through - I'd forgotten it was on - and we had to watch it all the way through, again. I'm buying the dvds tomorrow - *grabby hands*

Hubby and I got the parents to watch Rugrat while we went to see Dark Knight in IMAX. We figured the movie's been out, what, six weeks now, so it wouldn't be hard to get tickets. However, the only seats left were the first two rows. And the first two rows of an IMAX show SUCK (much worse than the first two rows of an ordinary movie theater because the screen is so tall above your head). So no IMAX Batman for me this week either. Bummer. Man, I want to see that - the first twenty minutes (including the first main action sequence) were shot with IMAX cameras specifically and it's supposed to be amazing.

I have so many stories that are THIS CLOSE. And I've worked on NONE of them the past few weeks of Olympics mania/rugrat vacation. *sigh* One more week. and then SCHOOL STARTS YAYAYAYAYAY!

okay, so it's only three days and a really shortened schedule - that's not the point!

(my sympathies to the teachers on my flist - but let me repeat for the parents - YAAYAYAYAYAY!)

I managed to write two more ficlets for the Porn Battle:

Know Too Much , SCC, Derek/Cameron.

Not Him , Stargate SG-1, Jack/Jonas.

I have part of two others that outgrew the bounds and there's no way I can finish them tomorrow in time for the deadline anyway, so this is it. Neither of these are my "ships" but I always figure I should try new things for something like the Porn Battle, even if they're... out of the blue.

Check 'em out, if you want.
Title: A Moment's Respite
Author: Lizardbeth
Rating: ADULT
Pairing: Sarah and Derek

Summary: The ghost of Kyle hung between them but it wasn't what she wanted. Not right now.

Note: Happy Birthday, [livejournal.com profile] sabaceanbabe!! A bit late but better than never, eh? And thank you for your mad beta skillz. (which she didn't employ for this ficlet, so it's all on me, I'm afraid)

This is for you, hon!

Hotel California came up on shuffle. Please tell me someone's made a Supernatural vid to this. It could be like a mini-episode in its entirety. It would be awesome!

Man, it was HOT yesterday. 95 where we were visiting (and thankfully using their pool!). And it's only mid-April. *whimper*

I've spent entirely too long trying to work out the timeline for a SCC/Jeremiah x-over, because I'm just that crazy. I'm a little too in love with the irony of the Merry Band of SCC jumping to a future where the apocalypse has already happened. oops. alternate!Derek is still a badass, though (gee, who woulda thunk? *g*). I'm trying to decide if Kyle should be alive or not (since it's entirely possible in this 'verse) -- too weird for Sarah and John to see Kyle as a teenager? Or just plain deliciously squirmy?

Sometimes the plot bunnies are rabid, what can I say?
Character: Derek Reese
Rating: PG, Gen
Spoilers: general for Season 1
W/C: 1100
Summary: There's something missing when he looks in the mirror.

A/N: Renew this show, FOX! Don't let me get sucked into this fandom for nothing!

Twenty Minutes )
Yesterday the Short Person had his follow-up from the surgery and got the all clear. So yay!

Then we came home and he rode his bicycle all around the block. I had to run to keep up with him. I think I'm going to need a bike of my own very soon... he's getting fast.

Last night T2 was on t.v. so we watched a bit of that. And while Sarah was escaping to get John, it was because she saw there was another Terminator around. Which she, um, edits out in SCC. *g* (the show is not consistent with the movies, the show is in a different verse...)

But despite that, I was thinking about Kate Brewster:

and where she might fit in to the SCC-verse )

FIC. Apparently I suck at the estimates, because I have 5800 words of the Farm AU and I'm still not done. So much for being finished at 5000 words. bah.

TRUE STORY: Last night, after SCC finished, my iPod in its battery-operated speakers suddenly decided to turn itself on. Even better? It blared Duran Duran's "Electric Barbarella". I think it had been on sleep mode (I used it earlier while making dinner), and then woke up. But still... *cue ominous Terminator poundy drums*

Supernatural was officially renewed yesterday by the CW, for those who care and might not have heard.

Now, if only Fox will renew SCC! Otherwise the slate of my shows is gonna look pretty bare this fall/next year.

New Amsterdam premieres tonight. Looks pretty weak, though I am a sucker for the immortality thing.
Yes, Derek wins the dry observation quip of the evening!!! bwah

TV Guide has an great roundup of post-strike show fates.

In amongst the YAY!, there is one little thing: No new Women's Murder Club. Which doesn't affect me since I don't watch it, but I am amused sorry for Joe Flanigan who was so disappointed that the strike interrupted his Sexin' Scene with Angie Harmon. Unfortunately for him, it seems that his coitus will be interruptus even longer...

And what is this To Be Determined for Sarah Connor Chronicles? You cannot take my Shiny away from me. grr.

Dark Knight trailer in LEGO!!!

So funny.
(probably funnier if you've seen the actual trailer, but still worth a look if only to see Old Skool animation)

and can I just declare my love for SCC? because, yes, I do.
My computer held off dying for longer than I expected, but the day's coming pretty rapidly. Yep. *sigh* It's all but impossible to look at pics -- only pure white screens are even tolerable.

Anyway, last night's Sarah Connor Chronicles made me rather thinky.

Minor spoilers.

Everything I know about temporal mechanics I learned from Stargate, sort of )

eta:
And this is so strange about Heath Ledger. Given his make-up for the Joker and the suddenness of the death, I'm reminded very strongly of the death of Brandon Lee on the Crow (albeit this isn't on set, but I wonder how much ADR and such he was still supposed to do). It's that same sort of HUH? feeling.

And to think just last weekend I was reading a magazine which was talking up the buzz on Dark Knight as well as a retrospective of Lee's death....
