With [livejournal.com profile] sabaceanbabe I have decided that the (fic)world needs Ficathons Anonymous. Because -- we both swore off them, that our last one would be the last. And yet, we simply could not resist the allure of the Helo Shagathon .

Clearly, we have a problem.

The first step to dealing with a problem is realizing that you have a problem, so we're well on our way. The second step is creating joining, Ficathons Anonymous .

So, I'll start our first meeting.

Hello. My name is Lizardbeth, and I'm a ficathon-aholic. I just signed up for my latest ficathon even after I swore I was all ficathonned out after [livejournal.com profile] yuletide, [livejournal.com profile] sg_rarepairings and [livejournal.com profile] potcsecretsanta. I have a problem. *sniff* I need your help.

Does anyone else have this problem and would like to talk about it?

There's [livejournal.com profile] sg1_debrief the SG1 newsletter (currently on hiatus for the holidays, but should be back shortly, I hope), or the [livejournal.com profile] sga_newsletter for SGA. those usually will pick up the challenges/ficathons/etc for a given fandom if they're not ones you find through your flist. I watch the SG-1, SGA, Supernatural, BSG, and PotC fandom newsletters because those are my main fandoms right now. I know of several more. But just check through friends-of-friends, or interests if you're also into Sentinel or something like that, because they exist.

I can help organize it, if you want. I've done several so I know how they work.
