I like Kate as a character. I find her interesting with believable flaws, and occasionally both utterly adorable and frustrating.
2) Is he/she important to the general plot?
er, show's about her, so yes.

I relate to how she finds Justin hot. *G* and I admire how forthright and fearless she can be.

Kate/Justin of course. Though I'm also interested in Kate's relationships with Lauren and Spencer, who kind of disappeared from her life. And I'd like to know more about Kate and Julie's BFFery

i think they need to pull back on her ... childishness. It's hard to believe that she was such a fabulous attorney when she can't get anywhere on time and is so helpless about details. (I would've believed she'd quit law because she was actually rather terrible at it besides her philosophical problems with it -- seems like the show is kind of trying to have it both ways).

I would likely find her unprofessional and annoying in real life, tbh.

1) What is your opinion of this character? If you like, explain why you like him/her.
LOVE WITH SPARKLY HEARTS

important, though obviously more so as series goes on than at the start.
3) Can you relate to this character at all? Does he/she grip you emotionally?
I think I would react very similarly - both as a resistance fighter and as being rather stunned and horrified at the revelation of being a FFer. I am not an athlete though, so that part, no. Yes, his journey is one of the ones I find very gripping.
4) How much do you like the fandom that this character comes from?

Kara of course. the other Four. The Cylons in general. I tend to write about all those things a lot and in different combos.
I will always mourn my S.3 fanon that he didn't become Laura's protege and move into politics (really, Laura missed her opportunity there -- he had a built in notoriety as a C-Buc and a two-time resistance hero. She should've been all over his political capital, but *sigh*)

Let's just say there are many other ways 4.5 could've gone which I would've liked much better for him. But the Hybrid thing is number one on my OMGHATE list.

I think I'd like him. He seems to get along with everybody. I'd probably have a crush. *g*

I like Dee. I love especially her quiet strength, that she knows what she wants and she's willing to risk to get it. Even though sometimes that breaks her heart.

Important in a secondary character sense - she impacts the other characters who are more direct movers (advising, helping,).

I think so - she's one of the more normal ones, in a sense. She does her job, she does what she believes is right, she falls in love... she feels the most real in some ways.

Still a Lee/Dee shipper and wished Apollo'd gotten his act together better/earlier. I would've liked to see her with Laura more, esp when they were both dealing with emo Adama men.

mm, all time, probably not, but certainly a favorite.

I would, though not too much since she's a bit too minor to hype up too much. People would likely be disappointed

depends on the corner. some people have been unfairly critical and/or hateful toward her over Billy and Lee, but she does seem more popular now that the canon's closed.

What can I say about Kara Thrac? I hear her hair is insured for 1000 dollars... :) (sorry, can't help it. hee)

OH YES

She's gripping emotionally, but hm, not really a character I relate to personally, in the sense of being like her. She's more bold, more crazy, more selfish, more damaged, more... everything :)

Kara/Sam ALWAYS. I'm not a K/L shipper at all (and that was before Sam even came on the scene). Though I can certainly see Kara frakking anybody pretty much, if she wanted. I loved the casual BFFness of Kara Helo. and how Kara's relationship with the Tighs evolved from mutual disdain to friendly.
6) Is there anything about the character you would change?
I would've liked her to have her understand her need for Sam before he was bleeding out in her arms. :(

Depends on if I was set in authority over her, in which case I would probably want to put her in hack all the time, or if I could drink with her.

I like Vala. I love how she shook up the dynamics of the team and the SGC, how she was outrageous and bold, and thought Earthers were stupid a lot of the time. A little less enamored with her forays into stupidity,

Later on, with the Orisi, definitely.
3) Can you relate to this character at all? Does he/she grip you emotionally?
I have often thought Earthers are dumb, so that part, totally I relate. Loyalty to her friends. Insecurity. People you can't help loving even when they're trying to conquer your galaxy. okay, not SO much that last part.
4) How much do you like the fandom that this character comes from?
The fandom's gotten better I think, but it used to be a little too big and divided into different camps.
5) Do you ship this character with any other character? Or, are you particularly intrigued by his/her relationship with any other character(s)? (romance-wise or platonic)
With Daniel. Tomin was kind of sweet. Vala and Cam were interesting as a Farscaper. Vala - Teal'c was fun for alien bonding. Vala and Sam as eventual friends.

Early S9 Vala was a bit over the top, but aside from that, not really. I like her journey

Depends on whether she stole from me or not. :)

She was brave and she tried hard, and she wanted to be her own woman with her own adventures, and I liked that.

nope, I liked her better on her own than with Dean or Sam, at least romantically. but I liked her relationship with her mother a lot

her death. or really, her lack of return (since death is no big thing in SPN-verse)

Heh, I can see myself trying to mother her actually (I relate to Ellen a lot more as another parent), so she'd probably hate me.

no. I don't feel strongly enough about her to consider her a favorite, though I certainly don't dislike her.

Neither. Except as an example of a female hunter that they do exist.

not that I'm still bitter about Helo going forward in BSGMM or anything like that, noooo1) What is your opinion of this character? If you like, explain why you like him/her.
I like Derek, I like he shook up the timeline and provided a real human connection to the post JD world, and the complexities of his relationship through Kyle to both Sarah and John.
2) Is he/she important to the general plot?
Through his connection to Sarah and John, and the future. Though ultimately he was another soldier to fall in the war.
3) Can you relate to this character at all? Does he/she grip you emotionally?
Hm, I think I can relate in the sense that I think I could become like him in the same circumstance. But it's more that I find his damage interesting, than relatable.
4) How much do you like the fandom that this character comes from?
it used to be a pretty good, small fandom. but it's pretty quiet.
5) Do you ship this character with any other character? Or, are you particularly intrigued by his/her relationship with any other character(s)? (romance-wise or platonic)
Derek/Jesse seemed pretty doomed, though in the future they seemed to work. The complexities of Sarah/Derek were pretty interesting. And I loved the Derek - John relationship.
6) Is there anything about the character you would change?
I'm... still not over how he died. (though I do like the idea of a Derek v. 2.0 coming back with John from the future)

unless i was also a resistance fighter, I would try to stay Far, far away.

I have in the past, esp with people who are impatient with the pilot, since his arrival shifted the original dynamics and kicked the main arc into gear

It's weird to think about what would've happened if the show had come back for season three. The alternate future gave them a way to keep Derek around/bring him back, but he'd be a Derek who never knew John.
