Y'know, Self, I know it's very exciting to be writing the Plot Kraken again, but still, you don't need to shove ALL the reveals into the first two scenes you're writing. Head!people need to be used SPARINGLY. Besides, I think Hera might like to find her Mommy and Daddy first. Just sayin'.
So, if they reboot old!BSG are they going to swap someone else's gender or keep 'em all guys? There were four women on Old Skool - Serina (dies early), Sheba the pilot (comes later), Athena (commander's daughter and comm officer) and Cassie (nurse), the latter two had catfights over Starbuck. Shining examples of feminism right there. I said over at Sitrep that my bet is that in order to make it "darker and edgier" and yet not use RDM-verse (since if Larson is involved it won't), I bet they'll make Adama more like Cain, since that'll give them instant conflict on the ship after the attacks. And then Apollo (played by James Marsden of course) can try to soften him up. Meanwhile, his good buddy Starbuck will still be a hotshot pilot and still like the ladies, except he'll probably be a drug addict. Luckily there'll be tons of Ho!Yay so at least the slashers will like it.
