Here's a link for my write-up on the Criminal Minds finale, with Tricia Helfer being fabulously evil. Here.

I finally watched Iron Man 2 for the Natasha-ness of it all. Favorite scene is definitely her strike on Hammer Ind. I don't think the movie as a whole was all that much, tbh. Natasha, Fury, Coulson were the best parts. Thinking about going to Avengers tomorrow.

Naturally (this is me, after all) my Clint/Natasha story is growing out of its little seed. I really should finish "Understanding the Storm, part 2" though, first. and also BSG Fic. argh. why must shiny things be so shiny and distracting?
So Paul Wesley made it to the third-round of EW "UnderAppreciated Entertainer of the Year" Bracket Game (defeating Jared Padalecki, btw, and if you don't think that turned into a TVD v SPN spitting match, you don't know fandom at all). Paul is currently fighting it out with Thomas Gibson of Criminal Minds -- he had a close but pretty solid lead and then abruptly started to nosedive.

The reason for this sudden nosedive?
A - a massive sudden upsurge of CM fans
B - poll failure (which is what a bunch of Stefan fans were thinking)
C - a bunch of tinhat Delena shippers voting him down out of spite?

If you picked C, congratulations, you've been in fandom (any fandom) longer than six months.

EEEEEE!!! POSTING DATE FOR BSG BIG BANG. *twirls*

Good, now I can put it away for a week and come back to it later. Right now I can't stand to look at it. ugh. But it's done!

We watched Criminal Minds. Because network asshattery doesn't change it being one of hubby's favorite shows. *sigh* at least we don't have a box.

JJ was awesome. and next week will be her last. BASTARDS. That little girl, Ellie? she was amazing. But they shouldn't have cast a girl who has smiley lips - it made her look like she was smirking evilly in a very Bad Seed sort of way. Possibly Tim Curry was infecting my brain.

(There was some Cougar Town in between - I'd rather watch that, once JJ is gone, I think. But I bet I'll be prying the remote out of MrLiz's cold dead hands for that one)

And also Neil Gaiman has been busy tweeting about his visit to the set of DW to watch them film his episode. Frak. I kinda wish I didn't know he wrote an ep, because then I wouldn't want to watch it and I wouldn't now feel this urge to have to catch up. gah.

AJ Cook is apparently going to be fired from Criminal Minds and Paget Breweter's role is being reduced. Supposedly for "financial reasons", which is the biggest load of crap I've heard from a network in a LOOOONG time.

I like Paget's Emily - she is competent and kickass and all those things, which are awesome. But Jennifer Jareau is ME. I don't think I could actually BE Emily, but JJ is someone who is also awesome, she's a mom, she does her job well, and she's still affected by the horrible things they see. She's the one tasked most often with dealing with the media and the victims' families, and brings it all to a human level that the profilers kind of don't have anymore.

I think the eps where she was on maternity leave show that the team is NOT THE SAME without her.

NOOOOOOOO. Well, CBS has already received an email from me this morning. It's a big fandom - hopefully it can mobilize on this.

eta: oh, and now they're saying it's a 'creative decision" and they're going to bring a new female castmember in at mid-season. Well, thanks so fucking much for NOTHING.

Two days at Disneyland has kind of killed me. But I caught the finale of Dexter last night. (because that's what everyone needs when returning from a trip exhausted - serial killer mayhem!)

SPOILERS FOR DEXTER AND CRIMINAL MINDS )
Sometimes Yuletide fic research gets a little.... esoteric. I now know more about the chart positions of Whitney Houston's early songs than I really ever wanted to. (don't ask)

And yet, there it is, gathered into a tidy bundle on Wikipedia. *sigh* Even ten years ago, I would probably have just BS'd my way through, knowing she had a whole bunch of number ones. But now I actually KNOW. That piece of useless trivia probably just overwrote three SG-1 episode titles and my sister-in-law's birthday. THANKS YULETIDE.

But I have about 3K on the story and it's getting closer.

And then, last night, there was THAT THING THAT HAPPENED ON TEE VEE.

Criminal Minds- spoilers for current arc )

OMG, TOTALLY PWNED! *chortle with glee*

Do not mess with Hotch and diss his profession for he will burn you. In a courtroom. And tell the presiding judge that you're in debt to pay off gambling debts and your bookie is ON YOUR PHONE IN COURT. All from profiling his ass. BWHAHAHAHAHA.

What I would give to see that happen in real life, OMG.

Renee O'Connor is on tonight's Criminal Minds! *insert Xena joke here*

Poor Hotch. It's a tough year for my woobie.

* * *

Now that I've kicked the fic (it had the very exciting title of "Farm AU" for the LONGEST time) out the door finally, so many more WIPs to work on! *iz buried*

I really meant to finish that one ages ago. I am so SLOOOOOOW...

I'm going to try to put up my "Believeth" comments tomorrow. See, what I mean by slow?

* * *

I bought the cutest little mini wallet today - it holds id, a credit card, and has a little attached keyring. Perfect for tucking in a pocket (particularly when RUNNING after the speed demon!). Now that I don't have to carry baby stuff around anymore, I've been simplifying my purse; this, is pretty much as simple as it gets.

* * *

Boy, am I glad I'm not trying to fly anywhere right now, especially those on AA. Anybody who does has my sympathies. yikes.

In the real world I have been getting my bathroom re-done as well as helping my parents move FINALLY into their new condo. Where I inaugurated their shower, because I can't use my own. :(

But we did watch t.v. tonight.

Criminal Minds does The Crow, though more the O'Barr graphic novel version than the movie. Complete with b&w art, which was very cool and makes me want to find out who did the real drawings. And the quotations are Clive Barker and Frank Miller.

With Frankie Muniz (!!) doing a very credible if not very tall guest role.

Okay, and this made me laugh, so I have to share:
