CW just- JUST - announced that tomorrow's new episodes of Smallville and Supernatural are going to be pushed back a week to Feb 4, so they can air repeats of tonight's new Nikita and Vampire Diaries to get more exposure as those shows come back after hiatus. Apparently the CW only realized today that Idol is on tonight, too! I know, such a shock to me, too! It's not like everybody didn't know that AI was moving nights or anything for months.

Episode 2 of Fairly Legal is on as well. Party at [livejournal.com profile] fairlylegal! (er, it's a quiet party, but we are getting more people all the time! yay!) Did you know that about three times the people watch Jersey Shore at that hour? I just don't even get it. *sigh*

In unfortunate news, I haven't been able to write a word all week. I have four things open and have written on none of them. ugh.
Tonight, 10 Eastern on USA. (7pm for me. Thank goodness for no west coast feed for USA-HD)

C'mon, people, watch. Keep my TV boyfriend employed! *g* (And Sarah Shahi is great, too. She went into the audition with a three month old, slammed the diaper bag down, and told the creator/EPs that she wasn't even sure she wanted to do it and they were going to have to convince HER. ♥)

Later on, head over [livejournal.com profile] fairlylegal for a reaction post to share your thoughts. so I am not ALOOOOOONE

In the meantime you can see some fun promotional stuff USA is doing. And how Sarah Shahi is adorable and cracks me up.
I'm still highly irritated by a blog I read, full of the most ridiculous poorly-thought-out mishmash of faux-feminist b.s. I've read in a long time. This is a blog that wants to cancel "Fairly Legal" unaired, on the basis of only one promo, because Sarah Shahi is too beautiful to be a lawyer and therefore little girls won't want to become lawyers because they can't measure up.

I just.

I've been annoyed by this thing for TWO DAYS. I restrained myself from engaging (okay, that was more because I didn't know where to START than any innate nobility on my part), but GOOD LORD. Like this is the first t.v. show to have an attractive lead actress. She's not even the first attractive actress to be a lawyer, and somehow the profession has managed to thrive for women. I desperately wanted to ask if this blogger is also actively petitioning for the cancellation of "The Good Wife", since I'm sure Julianna Margulies is also a bad influence, being so pretty and all. Or y'know, Mariska Hargitay for police detectives. I would bet a million dollars in the real world, where people actually LIVE, Olivia Benson has inspired more girls to become police officers than were ASHAMED because they're not as beautiful as Mariska.

And that was only the start of the stupidity on display. Seriously, if we had to remove all t.v. shows with unrealistic portrayals of their profession, would we have any left? Heck, I'm kind of excited since I think FL might be closer to what an ADA actually does since the early days of L&O (okay, they might really screw it up, too, and I will have words about it, if they do. But at least they look like they're trying more than your average medical drama). Which of course, this person doesn't know, because she didn't bother to look for more evidence to support her conclusion.

(and she's a law student! supposedly. Which means she got through college! gods.)

First of all, for those of you who aren't members of [livejournal.com profile] fairlylegal (AND WHY NOT?) there are lovely promo pics of Michael Trucco and Sarah Shahi there now. And some other stuff.

Show premieres on USA, Jan 20. Sarah Shahi is Kate Reed, a former litigator who turns mediator to help people. It's a law show, but with a light touch (similar to how Royal Pains is a medical drama, but not really).

But it was funny, I was thinking about what I know about some of the storylines, and I'm going to end up taking Justin's 'side' a lot. Not only because it's Michael Trucco *G*, but for my own background.

for example: a bit spoilery for the pilot )

But in any case the show looks fun, if not terribly deep, and it's certainly pretty! :)

Stills from the Pilot of "Fairly Legal" at [livejournal.com profile] fairlylegal
Sarah Shahi, Michael Trucco, and lots of pretty over there

In similar news, apparently the producers of 'Justified' have just sold a tv show about a public defender who quits in disgust to become a prosecutor. (I can hear the pitch now -- "It's like "Fairly Legal" but reversed...") *sigh* I bet it'll be a little more srs bzns show than "Fairly Legal" is though. I think I'll hook her up with Trucco's character at a prosecutor conference....

(no, I'm not writing fanfic in my head for two shows that haven't even aired yet, nooooo.)

Or doing this instead of NaNo. oops.

Yay! Finally crossed the 20,000 word mark and officially caught up to NaNo! Until tomorrow. I'm going to try to get a little ahead tonight, since weekends always suck for me to accomplish anything.

AND

It's almost Yuletide sign up time! I guess this means I have to decide what crack I want for my holiday.

And those of you at [livejournal.com profile] fairlylegal already saw this, but it is particularly awesome. Fairly Legal - premiering January on USA. With Sarah Shahi and Michael Trucco.

You guys, I found a promo for Facing Kate. And while I will post the full thing to [livejournal.com profile] facing_kate just as soon as I figure out whether posting it to YT will get me banninated or not :( , I MUST SHARE THESE CAPS for my Trucco loving peeps.

I KNEW I WOULD LOVE THIS SHOW )

Sbabe, I believe you requested more shirtlessness? :DDD

So you get random tidbits.

- I don't watch Idol so I don't care, except the new judges make me LAUGH SO HARD. Last I heard anything about Tyler it was after he'd grabbed the PA mic and yelled out all of 'Dude looks like a lady'.

At Home Depot.

LOLOLOL

- oh, and also they lowered the age to 15. Maybe they should change the name of the show to America's Justin Bieber?

okay, I should put the rest of my babble behind a cut, cuz I'm nice like that )

I... should probably not post when I'm bored and it's late.
I think Big Bang has done something to my brain. (I know, you're all like, 'really? How can you tell?' *g*)

But yes, I think so. Because... for the first time, ever. I BOUGHT A DOMAIN.

Facing Kate Fans

I think you can get to it, though the DNS might still need to propagate. But what's there is a fansite for Facing Kate

BECAUSE I AM INSANE. *head-desk*

This show won't even be out for another three-four months. It probably won't release promo pics for at least two. I have only two interviews and some (admittedly adorable) photos to go on.

Apparently the combination of Trucco and the law has exploded my brain. I don't know.

(and I set up [livejournal.com profile] facing_kate also. yes. Did I mention I was going off the deep end?)

If I click on the 'facing kate' interest in my own profile, my LJ comes up, but not [livejournal.com profile] facing_kate comm. Cue me spending fifteen minutes trying to figure out if I put the comm's interests wrong somehow, redoing it, experimenting, etc, and discovering it works properly when I log out. So it must be a thing where it "knows" it's my comm - but then why does it pull up my own journal? And why, when I put it in a second comm I maintain, THAT comm comes up, but not the one I actually want to pop up? I DO NOT GET IT, LJ. I HAZ CONFUZION.

In the midst of the experimentation, I discovered a comment from me in 2007, ranting about wingfic's inexplicableness. HAHAHAHA. oh, irony.

FYI: do NOT watch "Final Destination" right before going to get your hair cut. I've never realized before how many different things can KILL YOU at the salon. :D

Instead of doing anything useful (oh, like write the stupid summary for my Big Bang, for ex), I started a community for Facing Kate, the upcoming t.v. show on USA. I titled it [livejournal.com profile] facing_kate. Clever, huh?

There's not much there yet, but I R planning ahead. I can't imagine I'll hate the show with that cast, as long as it's even mildly entertaining.

***

I have about eight potential titles for my Big Bang and a crappy summary. Titles and summaries are such a PITA. *grump*
Today was the NBC presentation at the TCAs so I have been all over Twitter catching the news of the "Facing Kate" panel.... It's a "comedy procedural".

There was a clip/trailer shown, so I hope it shows up on t.v. or at usa.com pretty soon. And Sarah Shahi is especially described as awesome. So *crosses fingers*

various IMPORTANT tweets and a pic )

and in other amusing news, Aaron Douglas has apparently signed on to the spot Ben Browder vacated on "Hellcats", the CW show about cheerleaders. I ... believe I'll offer that one without comment.
