Sam-haters are at it already. (again?) Can't you wait until she actually appears before hating on her? Apparently not. Ah well, having seen the edges of the OUTRAGE in Supernatural over ANY female regular/recurring character, I can't be surprised, but it's disappointing.

In Real Life news I found this slightly disturbing tidbit today: A bacillus evolved to live in the sterile environment of a clean room
living solely off the minuscule energy from shiny aluminum. whoa.

I didn't know it was possible to hate on Sam.

And yeah-- the constant influx of hate-ons for female characters-- I know I've spat out some venom about it in lyssie's journal, and this is inspiring another rant all its own-- much less female characters who are strong (but still show their femininity, which is SERIOUSLY NOT OKAY to lots of female viewers out there? ;p it's like women expect the female characters to be EVEN MORE PERFECT than the male, else it looks bad on the rest of us wtf) or carry a strong presence. --Seriously, though, how on earth could you hate Sam? c_c Isn't that like kicking puppies with spike-toed boots?

Women are our own worst enemy sometimes. But this is hardly news, I suppose. Even at my kid's preschool the girls are more cruel to each other than the boys (pint-sized Mean Girls, my husband calls them).

But this kind of stupidity just adds to my impression that fandom, writ large, is really junior high all over again.

Hilariously, I get my dose of fandom-- watching the people who participate in it like you and some others. XD So it's all vicarious. It's also why most of my comments seem to be along the lines of 'BZUH??!?' all the time.

Junior high is definitely right.

heh. And of course I think of myself as being on the sidelines, or at least in a corner, watching the truly batshit crazy from a distance. :D
