I've been technically on-call all week, but I only have to go in tomorrow. But that's actually good because once you're called in, then you either get placed on a jury that day or you're done (it's one day/one trial, we call it - it was a reform to get a wider jury pool).
Since no smart attorney is going to leave me on a jury (my family's in law enforcement), I get kicked as soon as they ask if there are people with conflicts. I've sat on civil trials before, but there aren't any at the court I'm being sent to tomorrow. So the probability of me actually serving is remote. it's just tedioius because I'll probably still have to sit around the jury lounge for several hours while the courts deal with other stuff.
