Hello, new friends. Take a look around. comment whenever you want; don't be shy. If you see older stuff that looks interesting I still get notifications so feel free.

The friending meme was a bit depressing. I discovered I was really OLD. WAAAAA! So I started [livejournal.com profile] fandom_dinosaur where us old folks can go to hang out in our rocking chairs and bitch about you whippersnappers, who were in diapers when my first fandom love (Babylon 5) or the other main fandom of my generation (X-Files) started.

I'm almost not kidding about the diapers. Ouch. Good thing I feel young, isn't it? It must be all the porn I've read and written in my excessively long career. *snerk*

OOOOKAAYYY, moving on....

But really, if you're also a dinosaur, feel free to join. I did it in a fit of silliness, but maybe it might be a nice place. It's multi-fandom -- ANY flavor of dinosaur can join (even young ones, if they want, there's no age check at the door or anything.. *g*)

For [livejournal.com profile] sabaceanbabe and others who might be interested, Special Unit 2 is on Skiffy tonight.

Okay, I must now do something useful and keep working on my Helo Shagathon fic this afternoon when I'm free. I'm not going to have much time until the deadline, so today's the day to finish the draft.

Hello to you. I see from your profile that you're also an Elizabeth Peters fan! I haven't read one in quite a while, but I'm due, probably for an Amelia novel. I'll have to sneak it in between my rereads of the Harry Potter series before Deathly Hallows comes out.

Thanks for thinking of us dinosaurs. I'll check out the community. I must admit that I've alway enjoyed the scifi/fantasy genera in TV and movies, but BSG 2004 is my first real foray into fandom...ok obsession!

Oh yes. I love her -- or at least I love the Peabody series, I've only read one Vicki Bliss, but that's more because I'm into Egyptology (thus the Stargate SG-1 obsession as well). I have the latest Peabody sitting on my shelf unread. no time. *sigh* I don't know if you're into the slash but I did a Ramses/David piece for [livejournal.com profile] yuletide ficathon this past year HERE (http://www.yuletidetreasure.org/archive/24/thepelican.html).

there's not much in the comm yet, but feel free to poke around or post or whatever. It's just for being silly.

Babylon 5 is an OLD fandom love?

Child, my first fandom love was the Thunderbirds in the early 70s! Cripes... kids today :-P

well, there were dinosaurs from the Cretaceous period, and dinosaurs in the Jurassic. But we're all still just dinosaurs -- only archaeologists can tell them apart. *g*

I have a hundred page Mary Sue for Old Skool Tomorrow People somewhere, which I wrote in '82-ish. So that would probably be my first fandom love in a more generic sense. If it had existed and I'd been online back in the day, I'm sure I would've put it on ff.net. But... well, we're probably all better off without that sporking everyone in the eyes.

OK. I think I'm caught up on your BSG fic. I did read "The Gift" and really liked it. I also read "With a Whimper" and "One Hundred Twenty Days" These were great, and even though I'm clearly obsessed with Helo, I'll keep reading your Anders fic. And I find Anders running for president pretty believable...I think he'd win! I will read the Ramses/David fic soon. After I actually do the "good worker" thing.
