March Madness Goals!

So I saw this thing about making goals for March Madness. I suppose it's like New Year's Resolutions but for March. I think it should include goals but played as a bracket game somehow, but I'm not sure how that would work.


1. Finish the draft for Black Sails. OMG SO CLOSE. I really need to sit my butt down and finish it off in one long sitting because otherwise I am way too easily distracted, like part of my brain is afraid that if I finish it, something horrible will happen. I DON'T KNOW. All I know is that I have all the players here, they need to go over there, and they keep wanting to go THATWAY. Dear stupid characters, we're near the end; you are not allowed to do whatever the hell you want. STOP IT.

2. Write bsg_remix No, I haven't started. No I haven't picked what I want to remix.

3. Write one original short story. I haven't done that for ages and I feel like it would be nice to write something that's mine alone.


One of these days I will write a major ship in a major fandom and actually get hits and stuff. Today is not that day. But holy crap, I had no idea there were fics at AO3 that got hits like that (that aren't Octopus at Yuletide related at least, lol). That'll teach me to wander around in other fandoms.

I was hugely flabbergasted to see some random X Men First Class porn thing got 5K hits. So apparently there ARE people at AO3, just not where I am...lol

and yeah, thank goodness for that remix deadline because otherwise I'm quite sure I would blow it off altogether. argh. I used to be more disciplined.

I ended up signing up for remix partly so I'd have a deadline in place to work toward, but apparently starting before March was just too smart for me.

there is a fic at AO3 in XMFC with 85,000 hits. THAT IS NOT A TYPO.

(okay it's also 33 chapters and over 300K words long But still. )

Holy FRAK! My fic with the most hits at AO3 is a one-off in Hawaii Five-O fandom that's been there for like ten months and has yet to break a thousand hits.

And I just realized that I wasn't following you over there. Do you realize that just paging through the Ls that you don't even break past "La..." for like 50 some pages??? Oy. "Liz..." didn't hit til like page 83. O_O

I know, isn't it shocking? My biggest is THISCLOSE to 1K and that's my American Psycho Yuletide fic from two years ago that I KNOW got linked outside at least in one place. I knew BSG was small but HOLY FRAK (not that I sorted BSG, but still, I'd rather not know if there's BSG fic getting that kind of traction, y'know? I'd rather just say the whole fandom is small. I
