I spent so much time at the [livejournal.com profile] bsg_epics comment question fest thingy, that I basically got nothing practical done, but omg so much fun! :D

I'm struggling with trying to make this part of Black Sails interesting when it is in fact an infodump blah blah crap you already know blah crap you should know if you were paying attention blah crap you're going wish you know real soon now blah blah We shall see how well I do at making it concise and important, and maybe interesting.

Story has also cracked 90K which is ridiculous! And I'd estimate I have another 5K more, except my estimates are notoriously off so it's probably more like 10K to wrap it up. Ah well, at least it'll be a big return for the folks who've been patiently waiting. I've never used the potential of story alerts on ff.net before, but I think I'll add a 'chapter' to Thread of Ariadne when it's time, to tell them the next/last installment is out. I haven't done that before but it seems like a reasonable thing to do, especially after so long. (it does feel a bit like Amazon, though -- "you expressed an interest in X, you may also then be interested in Y"... heh)

I've read that people use them as a private bookmarking service for "things they're going to get round to reading eventually" as well as "things they don't want to favorite, but want to remember". I've always just found them sort of confusing.

Story alerts on multichapter things make sense, esp if you're not there all the time, but one-shots they must have another purpose. Or else there are some people who story alert everything. Which being ff.net wouldn't shock me either...
