I think, If I figured the SF/F bracket properly, given the votes at closing, boys will be against boys, and girls will be against girls. No, wait, that's not the amazing part.

IT IS COMPLETE PARITY.

Seed - Characters - vote

1. Scully - 1672
2. Dean - 1335 (SO SAD BB CASTIEL DIDN'T MAKE IT)
3. Olivia - 1255
4. Merlin - 1229
5. Aeryn - 1157
6. Eric - 1034
7. Kara - 1011
8. Eleven - 1008
9. Mal - 956
10 Buffy - 898
11. Nathan - 880
12. Annie - 870
13. Chuck - 859
14. Chloe - 840
15. Spock - 632
16. Sam C - 454

So, in a NCAA-type single-elimination round of 16, the seedings work as follows:

(top of the bracket)
1 v 16 -- Scully vs Sam
8 v 9 -- Eleven v Mal R

5 v 12 -- Aeryn v Annie
4 v 13 -- Merlin v Chuck

(bottom of the bracket- winner of the top plays the winner of the bottom)
6 v 11 -- Eric v Nathan
3 v 14 -- Olivia v Chloe

7 v 10 -- Kara v Buffy
2 v 15 -- Dean v Spock

Just think, if Eleven had pulled off FOUR MORE VOTES to overtake Kara this would've been screwed. But right now, barring any adjustments for voting fuckery, it is PERFECTLY BALANCED at all matches and within the bracket itself.

Damn, it's kind of beautiful how symmetrical that worked out.

(and relevant only to me -- Sam ended tied with Bill, at least. WHAT? It's the little things!)

Some of those are going to be hard (but how glorious will it be to watch Eleven take out Mal?)---and Chloe's going to cream Olivia, sadly.

I don't know about that second one -- Olivia got a lot of votes and Smallville's always been small. But there's nostalgia factor for Chloe so, hum, I dunno. I generally suck at guessing though.
