Under a Shadowed Sky

In the ruins on a gray Earth, Sam and Kara face the truth that the gods aren't finished with either of them yet. While the Fleet crumbles under the dark weight of despair, some find hope in new wonders, as the gods bring the humans and cylons to their final destiny.

Author's Note: The first short draft of this was scribbled back for the twelvecolonies long fic challenge last year and was my attempt to create a true-to-BSG version of a cracky premise. Now expanded and remade for bsg_bigbang. I couldn't have done it without sabaceanbabe who not only beta'd for me, but did art! And also lucyparavel who beta'd and suffered greatly as I whined about it. Thank you, ladies! (and any remaining mistakes were entirely me either not taking their smart advice or reintroducing the same mistakes)

Heh, I'm glad someone loves that it's wingfic. It's like the bastard stepchild of mpreg (even I think that! lol) but I had to do it, even if it meant hardly anyone would read it.

I just recently finished watching BSG, and after the slit cutting sadness of the last season, I gotta say I appreciated your fic even more. It's all the hope even through the sadness that you were able to convey. Good job working the normal canon into the story, the changes were interesting and fun and I just really enjoyed your fic. I can't gush enough! Your characterizations were perfect! Starbuck and Anders were perfect!

Also Dee not dying and being adorable with Lee is a huge plus.

Oh and thanks for putting up an epub file. Fanfic at work very much appreciated!

I admit this was sort of 'fix it' fic for me -- I'm not a finale hater, but I was definitely glad to do a more hopeful version that changed some things I'd have done differently.

and yay, I'm glad to find another Dee/Lee fan! I was so sad when Dee died.

Yeah, I'm the same. I have pretty lukewarm feelings regarding the finale, there are just things I would have done differently. Focusing so hard on Hera in the finale is one of those things I would have avoided. Though I'm aware that the series hinted so much to it that they couldn't end the series without doing it. But merging the two big story lines (Final Five and Hera) was kind of a bad move imho. So (to get back to your fic lol), I really like the direction you took. And I really love the idea of Sam with wings. >3

Dee dying is also something else I took issue with. Just when she was getting back together with Lee too! I think they're adorable and badly handled! Does fandom not like this pairing? I'm new to fandom so that thought makes me sad!
