V second season casting spoilers:



OMG. They're actually going to bring Jane Badler back as Diana. Anna's mother.
Who is imprisoned in a secret place on Anna's mothership.

My thoughts in sequence when I read that:
- Diana? AWESOME! maybe NOW we'll get HAMSTER EATIN'!!
- Jane Badler? Really? Has she acted in the last twenty years?
- mm, Diana's another queen then.
- So Anna overthrew her own mother to take power, presumably.
- Lisa is so totally going to overthrow Anna (or at least try)
- Is there someone ELSE Anna's keeping there who all the Vs think is dead?

Why yes, all my thoughts about V eventually get to John May. It's a mystery. :)



Unrelated, we're watching "The Box" - the film with Cameron Diaz and James Marsden. They should've gone all out on the SF elements and not tried to sell it as a Ring/Ringu clone. shame. (However, as hubby points out, it is by the same director as Donnie Darko, which makes total sense for why it's sort of genre-confused.) But still some nice performances and really fabulous mid-70's art direction. They had the clock from my parents house on the wall in one of the scenes, I about died. :)

If both shows weren't filming in Vancouver I wouldn't have quite so much hope, but being right there, it's do-able. I figure they've gotta bring him back and at least show how he died, if he's really dead. But if I can't have 'faked his own death to go into hiding', I'll take 'put in a cell for the last ten years' -- which would really suck for him, but at least then it could be cool if Lisa found out he was her dad and went to spring him.

or, at least, that's what i WANT to happen. :)
