I think I may have a problem

I have a 500 word essay for the LOST forum all in draft. Just waiting to post. It's tentatively titled "Why Jacob is good, or at least way better than the alternative, and all you haters should shut up already."

Or, y'know, not EXACTLY those words. But kinda. *g* It's inconvenient getting suddenly all fangirly over a character who's DEAD. (not that it's slowing him down all that much, but still. oops.)

It's lame, but I think I'm just a sucker for hot secondary characters who get badass dramatic entrances -- Anders comes in holding a gun in Kara's face, Castiel arrives like a storm in the barn, and Jacob.....

oh heck, I'm just gonna do it.



Hurley turns around and sees this...


(and okay, it's not especially badass, but it is dramatic, and then he gets all badass, pwning Jack without even raising his voice)

And y'know even his original entrance was hella dramatic: We see the statue in its full glory, we meet The Nemesis, and we finally can put a face to a name. (and interestingly, Jacob apparently needed to eat back then. maybe. though he was cooking the fish pretty badly - maybe it was something he was doing just out of nostalgia... )





Then, in the foot where we finally get to see where he's been keeping himself all this time:



(and then Ben stabs him to death. *sniffle*)

Here's one of my other favorite scenes with him, when he's waiting for Locke to fall out the window... Some destinies can't be changed, and I think he knows that.




I mean, it's one of those things where OBJECTIVELY, I don't think Pellegrino is hot. But his PRESENCE is just so striking, what Jacob's ABOUT is so intriguing, he becomes incredibly attractive. er, to me. :)



His predecessor of hot badass dramatic entrances was Richard, who had this scene in Dharmaville that made me love him... I thought he was interesting before that, but I wasn't all "ooooh, I need MOAR!" until THIS scene.


Richard, baby, you need to find your inner badass again. I swear I'll love you again if you stop having that look of wild terror in your eyes...

yes, I think he is wearing shoes. lol! well, it's a promo pic, those are sometimes taken during set-ups. So I guess we're seeing Pellegrino's own shoes. *snerk* Jacob's very definitely barefoot in the actual ep (I checked, just to make sure. IT WAS A HARDSHIP). See how he's barefoot on the beach, and Esau/MiB has shoes on? SHOES ARE EVIL. TRUFAX.

I have hopes for Richard in the next ep - he should get to the Temple before all the crap goes down, so hopefully he and Miles can avoid getting killed kick some ass.
