I've been feeling distinctly not-fannish lately, leading to (or perhaps because) I've been unable to string four sentences of fic together since Porn Battle closed. :(

Let's see, writing projects I have done NOTHING on:
1. spn_j2_bigbang. Squat.
2. chaos_thon. Outline. whoopie.
3. Black Sails. Outline. Random snippets that suck.
4. help_haiti AFT. I have a script.

You'll notice that's all pretty much exactly where I was last week.

So, instead, I've also watched five eps of .

I did like the pilot, but then it fell to the wayside because I have to dvr all the shows at 8 pm. But after reading the recaps at TWOP (because I LOVE Cindy, over there. Her taste and mine seem very simpatico and she grew to love it), I decided to catch up. AND ME TOO. It's not so SRS BZNS but it's well done and it has mythology, which I think we all know I need to really be fannish about something. (because as much as I enjoy shows like Burn NOtice and Leverage I have no desire to fic for them at all and I don't think about them when they're over).

The thing I love about it most, I think, is that IT MOVES. Things that other shows would use as mid-season cliffhangers (like Elena finding out Stefan's a vampire), happen early. She dumps his ass while she thinks about it. And I love Elena. And Stefan. (And KELLY HU was on last night!)

But how anybody can seriously ship Elena with Damon is ... beyond me. Seriously. He's a psycho. A funny and hot psycho, and I enjoy his character, but c'mon, she'd need a lobotomy. And if the show goes there without some MAJOR character rehab, I'm done.



I'm going to try to do the writing block for chaos_thon tonight and see if I can write SOMETHING useful!

I'm worried because I have fannish energy, just not for the challenges. I'm afraid I'm turning into a procrastinator...

Just keep going with TVD. I was 'meh' for the first few episodes, then vaguely intrigued when it started growing a little baby-sized arc. Now I am OBSESSED like an OBSESSED THING with it. It just gets more and more fascinating - the characters more and more rounded and multi-layered and the arc more complex and fun. It is now my only appointment tv in the week.
