lizardbeth: (Doral - humans)

My Wee!Doral and Stealth Cylon Minimate came. SO CUTE.

And also BBTS is hilarious - so I get one small package with two Minimates. The package is maybe the sze of two pieces of bread. The box it shipped in, is bigger than a shoebox with all kinds of bubble wrap.

The funny part?

The Minimate box was crushed all to hell.

I don't really care, since I take them out, except y'know I don't need to pay for all that shipping if you're just going to give me a crushed box. :/

Back in the day when Ron said the Twelve (Eight) were based on archetypes and not real people, it was more of a question, but now I think all Eight were based physically on real people and/or angels they saw.

I think probably just John was based on a previous Cylon person, and they are definitely each an archetype.

So then answer your own question-- why so boring Doral?

I just tend to think now that the Colony had a stash of DNA and that's what they used. DNA must be hella complicated to INVENT - it's a lot easier to manipulate, I'd think. Archetype in the sense of their personalities, maybe, but physically? I don't really see it.

I was just thinking out loud. :(

They probably figured society needed a bland efficient PR guy/tour guide/executive middleman type, so they made him look the part. They probably had a stash of Thirteenth Tribe and human DNA to work with, but if I were them, apart from a few sentimental recreations of Dad to start with, I'd mostly mix-and-match to make new appearances. Recreating the Six-angel's appearance, if that's what happened, would take mixing-and-matching too.
