THAT BETTER NOT BE THE SERIES FINALE

eeeeeee!

ending, OMG.

ok, I can't seem to get over that WEAVER HAD A TIME MACHINE IN THE BASEMENT. obviously she was sent back, I never ever expected her to have the means to GET BACK.

DEREK!
KYLE!

ALLISON! oh, man, as good as it was to see Derek, and it was, it was even better to see Allison. yay, get yourself the real thing, John, I don't mind that at all!
(and yes, I am on Team Cylon for BSG, ironically enough.)

"And Mr Ellison, if you don't want to come to the future with us, would you pick up Savannah from gymnastics?" LOL. And I also like her line about your cybord skulking about... "skulking". I think only Catherine can get away with saying that.

And Sarah telling John through Chola Girl under no circumstances try to rescue her, and John and Cameron totally doing it anyway.

Then John Henry-- "will you join us", and Cameron gives him her chip, and he goes to the future to fight Skynet!!!!!! HOLY CRAP.

*flail*

And okay, if there is no more, then OMG THE FIC OUT OF THIS SHOULD BE INSANE ANYWAY.

Plus, as Mr Liz pointed out, it actually sort of fits in with the movie-timeline, in that even SCC has now moved forward into the resistance era, not trying to prevent the war.

However, DEAR MOVIE PTB, when you're promoting Salvation it behooves you to actually HAVE NEW MATERIAL. As much as I draw sparkly hearts around that trailer, it is NOT NEW OR EXCLUSIVE OR ANYTHING I HAVEN'T ALREADY SEEN.

I CAN HAS SEASON THREE FOX?

*looks pitiful*

wasn't that great? DEREK! (and okay, not exactly 'our' Derek, but I'll take it) and KYLE. ALIVE KYLE. A Kyle never sent back? A Kyle in which John never existed at all? And that was a beautiful scene when John sees him and they're both lit the same way and really do look related for a moment.

A Kyle that either wasn't sent back or hasn't been sent back yet. Maybe this is how John starts to make a name for himself? Maybe this is the beginning of John Connor's life as a Leader.

That scene really was BEAUTIFUL. <3 I cried. But then, just seeing Derek brought to tears to my eyes, so...yeah.

He might have to send Kyle back in order to restore the timeline -- if, of course, this one is worse, which we don't actually know yet. If it's better (which is at least arguable right now, since at least Allison's not been killed, and both Kyle and Derek are still alive), then JOhn might have to face the choice of whether he SHOULD try to restore the timeline, or not.

There's a theory I've read that this is actually closing the loop and now John's going to become John Connor, future leader, and make everything play out the same, but I like the idea of this being an alternate timeline without John much better than making it all some infinitely recursive loop (which works for Lost, but this show's already put alternate universes in play). But it's certainly plausible, if the show wants to go that route.

I'm pretty sure he's too young.

If the timeline has changed, he may not have to send Kyle back in order to ensure his birth because it's already happened via original Kyle. Or something. Cue headache.

I didn't receive notification of the last two replies people made to my comments (you and [livejournal.com profile] tigriswolf). Are you having the same problem? Check the post beneath this.

yeah, John's age would be one of my complaints against the closing-the-loop theory. Another being that Allison is clearly too old for John and Weaver to have arrived pre-Century City workcamp according to SCC canon.

And yes, John exists, it's already done, IMO. Besides, I've never been particularly attached to the idea that the universe gives a crap about two hundred extra pounds of mass wandering around once it gets there.

oh, yes, I did get them, and totally meant to reply before SCC distracted me. Thanks for your suggestions. Regarding your last thought, yes, if one of the Five gained complete memories of Earth they might indeed tell the Fleet not to go there. I've already written the necessary scene about that -- though it won't even appear in 'Ariadne.'

I'm still having the problem, though. I didn't receive notification of this response. I'm glad it's not livejournal-wide.

And Adama and Roslin would have to debate what to tell the fleet. Keep up a fiction of Earth so they don't lose hope? While their own struggle with despair went on...

From: [identity profile] noybusiness.livejournal.com

And that's not mentioning the guilt the Cylon would feel for being the bearer of bad news, and the bad memories it would dredge up for him or her. "They've been chasing this dream and it was dust all along. The worst thing is seeing the hope on their faces die. How can I take away these people's hope?"

From: [identity profile] lizardbeth-j.livejournal.com

oh yes. The choice of crushing their hope now, or letting them see it and getting crushed then. Not to mention, if Kara is still sipping at the crazysauce, she wouldn't want to believe it, since she'd still be forced to go that way. Then Adama would have to pick between Laura who wants to go straight ahead toward Earth (she thinks), Kara who's back from the dead and wants to go thataway to Earth, and this Final five Cylon who remembers it becoming a cinder two thousand years ago. yeah, I don't envy him that one - though he'd probably still split the difference and send the Demetrius to scout it. (although as I've been discovering, when you already have one of the Five in the open, a lot of the Cylon-Hybrid-Three plot dissolves away).

From: [identity profile] noybusiness.livejournal.com

True. They'd have less reason to free Three (heh) when they destroyed the Hub.

From: [identity profile] noybusiness.livejournal.com

If they don't actually go there, they'll still be able to keep the illusion that Earth is out there for the fleet. However, Adama and Roslin aren't the type to take something like that on faith, especially from a Cylon that could be trying to confuse them. So they might send Racetrack and Skulls in a Raptor to check it out, and then swear them to secrecy.
