I know I bitch about this like every other week, but it's true again - I have TOO MANY WIPs. I can't concentrate on any of them, so I just fiddle around with them, kind of in sequence, writing a paragraph or so and then going on to the next one.

It's very annoying because I'm not actually accomplishing anything in ANY of them. *HEAD DESK*

This was almost a poll for your opinions, but all that would do is to make me feel guilty if I didn't work on the most popular, so it's not a poll. It's a list of my WIPs,

- Road to Tartaturs, this is my [livejournal.com profile] stargate_summer project. Can you say STALLED LIKE A STALLED THING? need more Stargate watching and get back in the fandom.

- Thread of Ariadne. I would like to point out for the record that Kara has crap all to do between Torn and Eye of Jupiter, if you take out boinking Sam and Lee. This... is causing me some plotting difficulties. I have her arc, but it resolves too quickly right now.

- Aurora. StWOM Fix it Fic/AU. Sam wakes up when he SHOULD HAVE, DAMN YOU TO HELL, SHOW. ahem. *breath* yeah, so I have that one. 6000 words. Will probably get reformulated to not go all the way to the end so I can, y'know, FINISH it sometime this century. And yet I know how they kill the Colony, without Hybrid!Sam, and it would be kind of a shame not to do that part. *sigh*

- Untitled Anders-Tessa fic. Sam's point of view of events after the surgery, with an assist from Tessa the Reaper, from Supernatural. 8000 words, through Deadlock. FUCKING DEPRESSING Y'ALL. I need to rewatch Islanded and I don't wanna.

(and yes, if you take the above two, you get 14,000 words, which is pretty much the MOST output I've had in three weeks' time for quite a while. Maybe I'm just burnt out.).

- Shadow, B5/BSG x-over. yes, this is still in progress. I really need only to write the Sinclair and Garibaldi go to Galactica part, and I have enough for at least a post.

- Sam-Kara Earth AU. I wrote the first meeting of Professor Anders and Piano Soloist Kara. Now I'm going to write their second one. At least it's lighter in tone.

And I won't list all the shit that I screw around on that aren't likely to ever see the light of day.

Next week we're going on vacation and I'm going to take ONE of them to work on and finish. Maybe that will help. *sigh*

SHADOW!!! *squee*

*ahem* If you feel the need to screw around with any of your other WIPs, may I suggest Two Tall Trees?
;P

oh YOU ARE SO FUNNY!

(I was thinking about doing the sequel as Action Figure Theater, actually. now that I have Ronon and Kara, I have everybody I need. *g* )

I'm trying for empathy, I am. But I want fic to read.

I would, uh, sort of like Shadow and maybe both Ariadne and Aurora. And, no, Kara doesn't have anything to do at that point (and, really, didn't do anything before except angst and sow mutiny).

From: [identity profile] lizardbeth-j.livejournal.com

oh, there'll be fic if I ever frakking finish any of it. *grumps*

Everything I've touched lately has grown into this big huge fic THING. Like a giant fic weed that just won't stop growing, even what should have been a silly EarthAU comment ficlet for the pornbattle. BRAIN, STOP IT.

Your brain is expunging. Mine does that, too, sometimes (though usually not in high volume over one thing.)

And, hey, at least you don't have Snow Patrol giving you bad ideas at work. Sigh.

From: [identity profile] lizardbeth-j.livejournal.com

YOU WOULD BE WRONG. "Crack the Shutters" - Sam remembering Kara while he's unconscious, y/y? yeah, I laid out the entire vid in my head. *sigh*

And see, you have manageable brain dumps. I just dump and dump, and then... run out of steam. *pout*

...damn. That's also what started the hanky panky in a hayloft fic that's in the notebook now
(complete with plot, hurrah)

Snow Patrol is sort of my personal Kara/Sam gurus.

The manageable ones are the ones which actually make it to being posted. :p (and I really need to get my littlebang fic and femmefic ones going, dammit)

As much as I want tons of fic, I totally understand being burnt out. What usually helps me is putting fandom away for 24 hours (horrors!), and then come back to it with fresh eyes. Watch something funny that you don't have to think about too much. I recommend Big Bang Theory for lots of laughs.

My personal vote out of the WIPs is Thread of Ariadne. It's a whole Kara-withdrawal thing. If you're in need of a sounding board or a beta, let me know. I'd be happy to give it a run-through and make suggestions if needed.

Where are you headed for vacay?

*gets withdrawl shakes* :) But yeah, I need to get away for a bit maybe and recharge the batteries. We're going to San Francisco for a week to visit family and hang out, and it should be fun and quite relaxing.

Thanks for your offer. That's very sweet of you! :D

Withdrawal, yes, I know. I think BSG fandom is suffering from a lot of overthinking after that finale. Maybe we all need a break.

San Fran sounds like a blast! Nothing like a change of scenery to clear the head and rouse the muse.

From: [identity profile] sabaceanbabe.livejournal.com

Ariadne, please. And really, it's AU, you know. Why don't you just give Kara something to do that will dovetail into what we got from canon?

From: [identity profile] ivanolix.livejournal.com

I'm not going to be pushy, partly because I don't want to you to feel obligated, and partly because...honestly they all sound interesting. And being burdened with my own WIP folder, I can't make any judgments. ;-)

I got a little lost with the Stargate fandom for a while, in the middle of a WIP, but watching a few episodes and reading through what I had already written got me back in the game and going strong again.

From: [identity profile] lizardbeth-j.livejournal.com

I really need to rewatch Stargate, to get back on track for that one. I KNOW that, but I have all this other BSG stuff crowding my brain! and yet, that's the only one that actually has a deadline (not to mention I'd like to get it frakking done after all these years sitting on it!). *sigh* my brain, it is messed up. :)

Would the shit unlikely to see the light of day include "untitled still, but almost done", "mmm, Sam Anders and Dean Winchester, fighting killer robots. nom", and "From my crackilicious Terminator Salvation/Dark Knight crossover" from the WIP Meme?

I vote that you go over Anders/Tessa on vacation, but you knew that. Second choice, Aurora.

The title Thread of Ariadne has to do with searching, right?

From: [identity profile] lizardbeth-j.livejournal.com

It would indeed include those two things! They're not only untitled they're VERY VERY far from done-ness. So they're definite ... maybes. Though I did get the Salvation prequel novel, so that one's more likely than the killer robots. The OTHER killer robots, that is.

The title Thread of Ariadne has to do with searching, right?
generally, yes. Ariadne gave Theseus a ball of string to navigate his way to the center of the labyrinth and back out again. So Samuel Theseus Anders receives a metaphorical thread to help him navigate his ... life.

From: [identity profile] noybusiness.livejournal.com

That was three things.

I thought it might have to do with Sam and Kara searching for each other (even though she thinks he's dead).
It's amusing that we still don't know what T. stands for.

On second thought, don't read my plot bunny posts. It would deluge you, and you already have one.

From: [identity profile] rosiethehobbit.livejournal.com

Road to Tartarus? Please? Pretty please with Malek on top?

From: [identity profile] noybusiness.livejournal.com

About Aurora, I was wondering where Sam would be at the service in Islanded in a Stream of Stars. It looks like he and Tyrol didn't have their rank post-Revelations until Tyrol got reinstated ("A new idea of Mr. Tyrol's", "All I've got is a Galen", "The actual piloting will be done by Mr. Anders", and only Tigh is mentioned as an example of "giving aid and comfort to the enemy"). So, with his memories back, I imagine he'd be performing the Prayer to the Cloud of Unknowing with Ellen and Caprica rather than the military segment.

BTW, why wasn't Tory there? Or did I miss her?

One of the plot bunnies in my big post at Pyramid of Dreams is Sam waking up in Someone to Watch Over Me, actually. Another is Sam being taken to the male farm, which I later found you had done. And one was Sam waking up in Someone to Watch Over Me with amnesia.
