OH SAM.

Let me share with you how frakked this show has made me. I happened to spy a bit of episode reaction before I clicked away (west coast is hard, y'all), that seemed to imply he DIED. So I was waiting for it, dreading it, the whole episode.

And then? He's not dead, so I was RELIEVED. Yes, I am relieved that my favorite character is in a BRAIN DEAD COMA.

I AM FRAKKED IN THE HEAD, clearly.

(this despite the fact that I was trying to figure out ways he could resurrect through the 'colony' they mentioned, even without the Hub, since I'm not sure they needed it)

*deep breath*

Kara and her desperation and love. Trying to take the blame, and overriding him, and doing what she had to do AS HIS WIFE, to try to save him? And how he totally used the Demetrius against her to get his way, at least for a little while? LOVE.

And I wish I didn't know about Trucco's accident, because I felt really bad for him having to act in all that stuff, that was only a few months ago for him when he filmed this. Maybe I'm projecting and it was totally different experience, but still, yikes.

And aphasia-Sam? LOVE HIM. So frantic to tell the story, compelled to get it all out there, even if it kills him? NO NO SWEETIE, it isn't worth your life. It's not. Really. ESPECIALLY WHEN ELLEN IS ALIVE AND COMING TO FIND YOU.

(and also, Michael Trucco is a sweetheart and I HEART him, but he is a LYING LIAR WHO LIES. "I don't remember where the story goes....It was so long ago..." Riiiight.)

I totally need to digest all the info in there. It was, pretty much, the sci-fi answer I expected, though. Even down to the FLT voyage explaining the time differential, and the Centurions finding them. It isn't the answer I WANTED, which creates a conundrum for a certain in-progress epic of epicness. I'll have to cogitate on that for a bit.

Anyway, Kate Vernon is awesome as Cylon Mama. LOVE HER. Did you see how she brought Boomer back? SHE DID! SHE DID! YAY!

And Dean Stockwell continues to creep me the frak out. There was one shot with little beetle eyes when he was just freaky.

I thought the parallel was interesting between Sam breaking down and Galactica breaking down - and I can only hope that Adama giving in and allowing the Cylon gel to fix the cracks, will mean that Ellen can bring some other Cylon something and fix Sam too.

And Tigh/Caprica? awwww. So, they've been shacked up for quite some time, it seems. She said 'weeks' that the booze had been gone, so it's been weeks since the amnesty. Two, I guess, given the time stamps on the webisodes.

oh, and Lee? BE SMARTER AND WRONGER!? *snicker* Or, y'know, in Laura-speak, try not to come off as an insufferable self-righteous prick.

Tory was still being MIss cylon. "They totally did it first!" heh. And her and Tyrol as a couple reactions? *giggle* (but THANK YOU Ron, for not giving me Sam and Tory love affair across the ages as I feared. we have one already, and I'm really glad we're not going there.)

OH, and John Hodgman? A leeeeetle too excited about BRAAAAIIIINSS!

wait, no, not done. DANIEL. MODEL SEVEN. A sensitive artistic soul... this is either the world's biggest red-herring, or that is describing Kara's father. Now, I'm still down with Kara being Aurora, but this does, I have to admit, raise that hybrid spec WAY back up there in possibility.

I am fascinated by the idea that it was Centurions who thought up the idea of the One True God all on their own. (and speaking of, how wonderful was Ellen asking it politely to help her up?)

okay that's all I can think of for now.

every week I say it, and every week it's still true. I need next week!
(but then there'll be only a few more, and I'll be sad)

Yes, It's been clear for a while that MT is pretty wise to the ways of fandom. I don't know if it's just that he has so much fun and is kinda a geek himself, or what, but he's a pretty smooth operator sometimes.

And yes, wasn't that great that Cottle treated her just exactly as his wife, with a wife's responsibilities? There was no question, no hesitation about her right to be there and make decisions or anything. It was just natural and right. So that was great to see from a writing standpoint, yes. So often in the past we've had Kara being so wrapped up in herself she didn't even see him, but this was different and very welcome.
