Can't be bothered to type out the whole title.
reactions, some thoughts.
The parents:
Bill and Laura -- they're both dying. Bill maybe not literally, but certainly metaphorically. He's losing control, he's losing respect of the people who serve under him, and if he's not careful it's going to be everything.
He can still PWN Zarek every day of the week though. HA! I cannot WAIT until Bill airlocks your ass, Zarek. "long trial" my foot, not when he's with Airlockin' Roslin, who just wants to live what time she's got left and is going to get pulled out of her euphoria to deal with YOU. She is not going to be pleased.
oh, Caprica - you're so beautiful and sweet about your miracle. And Saul is hilarious with his cigarette putting out when he thinks it might hurt the baby. They're about to become parents so they're ALIVE. (If Ishay aborts that baby, I will have to airlock her myself.)
Helo is a rock in CIC, and Athena is a badass. "Deadly force, okay. I'm heading into a place where they just KILLED people because they don't want my kind on this ship. No problem, sir." She retrieves the fuel ship AND Zarek, hopefully with no casualties they can use against her.
Tyrol basically abandons being a father. Nice. "here, Brendan, be a dad. see ya." No wonder Cally slept with someone else, jackass. So maybe she was settling for YOU...
While the parents are doing their thing, the children are growing up:
- Lee is being a grown up and even though he's beaten by the easily-led sheep of the Quorum, at least he's trying.
- Kara doesn't smack Gaeta across the floor. She doesn't even rise to Gaeta's bait as much as she could have. Though she does let him push her out of the room - but that was probably more self-restraint than I would've had, so I can't blame her for wanting the hell out of there. I wish she'd said, "Sam didn't have anything to do with the destruction of the colonies, you moron", but of course, she doesn't KNOW that.
She presumably knows the part about the 13th Tribe being Cylons, but I would like to know if she knows that Sam remembers being there. But... I get the feeling they haven't talked. *sad*
- Gaeta, even Gaeta's coming into his own, the frakker. Yeah, because he has SUCH a good plan -- "yes, let's kill all the Cylons and the Cylon-lovers, and then.... well. hm. Where do we go? oh I know, we'll follow Adama's plan of looking for a habitable planet. Except our fleet's falling apart and nobody has much food left (because those Cylon frakkers nuked their own world, grr, we hates them precious, yes we do), and people are rioting around the fleet, because they're not eating. But the military is pretty useless to stop them because half the competent ones are dead, I'm a morpha addict and Hoshi's the only one running CIC."
I'm sure some people are complaining that it's OOC - but I think it's perfect. It IS Gaeta. And I hope he dies soon.
I appreciate the bits of humor after the depression-fest of last week, and that Roslin and Adama can be in bed together and it's sweet. Though of course cavorting around and ignoring their responsibilities, is TOTALLY gonna bite them in the ass.
AAAAAND.... that was a whole lot of screentime and retconning to make Nicky not a hybrid. Very... puzzling. There are so many handwaves for him to be different from Hera, unless it's that important that she be the ONLY one.
Which may feed into my intuition that she's not going to survive the series. If the Opera House really is the passageway to death, and she gets taken through by Caprica/Head Six and Baltar, then... she's not going to be alive. Her destiny as the "shape of things to come" may not be to be the mother of the next generation, but something quite different. Remember, she's seen Head!Six, she can access the Opera House ... there's some freaky mojo going on with her. Growing up and having Cybrids with Nicky was not, I think, EVER in the cards. (Notice this happened in the first post-strike episode, AFTER the big writer confab that planned out the rest of the series - this clearly has to fit into the end game).
Anyway, there was no Sam, which makes my Sam-fangirl heart break. And next week is going to kill me, I think. eek.
It's been a bit of a madhouse around here tonight. So I think that's it for now.

Gah! I know, it's so sad. I was also glad that they get a moment to just be together before the shit hits the fan, even though I also really need them to both step up!
He can still PWN Zarek every day of the week though.
Yes, so true. I liked Adama again this week, probably entirely due to the contrast with Zarek. They really have left no gray area with him, have they? He's taking bribes, too? He sounds like that guy from Chicago.;p
(If Ishay aborts that baby, I will have to airlock her myself.)
She was scaring the crap out of me too!
No wonder Cally slept with someone else, jackass. So maybe she was settling for YOU...
ILU. And I still hate this retcon, but if I can try to think of it that way...
I wish she'd said, "Sam didn't have anything to do with the destruction of the colonies, you moron", but of course, she doesn't KNOW that.
I really, really liked how that was played. She doesn't know and he was hitting her right where it hurt, and I love that she reacted in typical Starbuck fashion and didn't pull her punches, either. Oh my Kara! <3

Argh, I'm so afraid you're right about this! And Athena's callsign makes me nervouse too - Athena sacrificed herself at the gates of Hera, or something like that? Woe.

WORD.
I <333333 ATHENA.
Gaeta. *spits* If he makes it to the end of next week's ep I will be SORELY DISAPPOINTED. I really hope Kara gets to shoot him, just before she rides in and saves our Sammy.
Which may feed into my intuition that she's not going to survive the series.
::wibble::
I fear that you are right.

Just wanted to say hope things are ok and less of a madhouse now. I haven't chatted with you in a couple of days and just wanted to check in. So, hi! *waves* Hope we get to talk soon. Take care.
