So Dreamwidth. I have one (lizardbeth.dreamwidth.org) and have been slowly poking my way around over there. I'm still not exactly sure what I'm going to do with it, except I really like the way you can subscribe to people without at the same time giving them access to your locked posts - though I haven't done that yet. So if you're over there, gimme a heads up (especially if you changed your name, cuz I may not know you are you. and that would be sad. Though if everyone's crossposting, it probably doesn't make too much of a diff I guess.)

There is the possibility (rumor?) that anyone who has logged in with OpenID (i.e. your LJ username) at Dreamwidth, will get an invite at open beta at the end of the month. Did you know that with OpenID you can even have six icons over there you can reply with? It's like a miniaccount. If you don't want to set up a journal over there, but you want to reply to posts (and not be an anonymouse), that's an easy thing to do.

So fanfic nemesis L Goldberg (the writer of "authorized tie-ins, a.k.a. fanfic for which he gets paid) is going to be a guest at the Festival of Books, this weekend. I wish I could go heckle.

Thanks to the heads up from [livejournal.com profile] azarsuerte though I don't know why Yahoo itself hasn't bothered to INFORM ME, Geocities is going to be defunct by the end of the year.

Including my own site. *sheds wee tear*

But seriously, there is fic there that I wrote back in the Cretaceous, including my first "published" fanfic. And all my B5 fanfic which is NOWHERE else.

While I wait for An Archive of Our Own to open, I think I better bring it over here/DW at least.
(NOTE TO SELF: put in the address of each fic to make it google-able) I'll space out the uploads, so as to not kill people.

Anybody have any suggestions for other "personal" archive places that are, like, free and not blog platforms and allow adult material?
