Lawrence Kasdan has been tapped to write a live-action Robotech the Movie. Awesomesauce. I loved Robotech SO MUCH - it was the first anime I watched (and yeah, purists scoff, but WHATEVER). And Lawrence Kasdan can do great stuff.
I hope he only adapts the first Macross version though, not try to fit all three storylines into one. EJO for Glovall, y/y? *g*
Trucco for Roy? hot shot ace pilot, hm, where have I seen that before? No, he has NO EXPERIENCE AT ALL with that. lol And Kandyse would make a great Claudia....

raping my childhood memoriesbased on 80's nostalgia that I want RIGHT NOW. Live action Robotech? *spazzz*I would just die if Michael could be Roy Fokker. Even tho he dies. :( I was trying to think who I'd want as Rick and Lisa, but I figure those would be younger actors who I don't know so well. Hopefully someone really good for Lisa though, that's a great role.

How young are we talking?

Younger as in twenties. Rick starts out as a teenager, but I'd cast a twenty-something and give him floppy hair to play the teenager bits. The overall story spans something like 12 years, so it depends on where the sction centers. Roy is the hotshot ace pilot and Rick's hero, and yeah, he gets killed. It's very sad. :( But it's what prompts Rick to be a Big Damn Hero to follow in his 'big brother's' shoes.

What about Shia (the kid who played Mutt in Indy 4)?
