HUMANITY IS DOOOMED!

After reading all the reactions earlier in the week I had a hard time actually sitting down to watching this one, expecting... I don't know, badness. But instead it was alternately game-changing and good and then totally WTF *cringe*?

Uneven? Yes, that's an excellent word. Or maybe it's because I don't much care for Lee? Or Romo? (And man, I say that as a person who has LOVED the politics stuff before.)

wow, and I thought the Colonies had the worst excuse for a governmental system before! Interim president while they form a committee to search a new candidate?????? WTF? President of the Colonies is like being a School Principal or Hospital President? Hell, you can tell it was designed by a bunch of people fifty years ago who had not frakkin clue what they were doing, can't you? (really, kudos, for that, show - it does really FIT that their system is so fucked up. But they need a NEW one desperately)

But in terms of this show, it's all so stupid. If it's up to Admiral Adama, just let him frakkin pick the candidate he'd prefer, otherwise it should be Zarek and Adama has to deal with him. He dealt with Baltar for a year after all (in some capacity at least). But then, the point isn't Zarek, it's that Zarek isn't Laura, I suppose. And really only Lee can get past that - nobody else would.

But then? Adama's not around, so what difference does it make? It's not like Tigh's not going to talk to Zarek.

President Leland Adama. Happened a bit earlier than I expected - I was hoping for more of the Zarek presidency and Lee as VP, but meh. After hearing how they cut out that Zarek was supposedly the one who sent those thuggish zealots after Baltar's cult, I was pretty resigned to the end of Zarek as a character who gets to do much of interest anymore. Pity. He was so wasted. Maybe he'll go back to terrorism and we can see Lee's pretty ideals get all crumbly?

Anyway what else?

awww Natalie. I thought she might pull it out, but no. And Cottle is moving up as the Fifth. Not for nothing they showed him holding her hand EXACTLY like Sam took the Eight's. er, probably. *g* (I'll stop, for the sake of the kittens!)

Athena ... Hera is her Sine Qua Non, that's for sure. oh honey, you are just ruining it all aren't you? (nice that Bill remembered Helo was missing too) But at least he let her have Hera to hold - he really is a big softie with his 'kids' isn't he?

So Pike bought it. A bit overdue, but yes. He has now paid for being such a dickhead on the Demetrius as several people seemed to want. So, there you go.

Racetrack going EVA to find him was pretty cool. As was the ship graveyard.

I am assuming Sam is with the missing ship? yes? Because he's been sadly missing lately.

OMG Tigh and Lee are in charge of what's left of humanity? That is hilarious. Humanity is so DOOOOMED.

GOod thing the Cylons can procreate after all.

THAT? Caprica being pregnant is awesome with awesomesauce. Because oh man, POSSIBILITIES. Best part of the episode.

And next week, looks AWESOME. Did you see how she...? YES. WHY couldn't Scifi threaten Sky until after NEXT week's?

I'm not convinced either about Natalie, not entirely. There's certainly a gap, since the Fleet doesn't actually know where any Res ships are. (or if they can operate without the hub at all, something I'm not clear about)

Well, Tigh didn't deny he and Caprica were doing it, and I'm sure he would've, very indignantly, as Bill realized. now whether he's really the daddy or Baltar I don't know. Show could go there, and I wouldn't hate it or anything. But how could it be Baltar - has he even SEEN her since the trial? And that was at least two months ago, plus we know it was months between Kara's death in maelstrom and her return, and Maelstrom was after Rapture. Would they EVER had private time together in that cell? Tigh has the authority to turn off the cameras; Baltar never would have.

Helo would in fact be kind of awesome, now that we have proof (well, probably) that the Five and Seven can have kids. in fact, I kind of wonder whether THAT won't turn out to be part of the Intra-Cylon Breeding Fault - when the Seven turned off their knowledge of the Five, they also did something to their systems that prevented getting each other pregnant. Or maybe that was the Cylon God's punishment for the split, somehow --- "You get your multiple copies and immortality, but youdon't also get to have children unless you learn the value of individual life." Something like that.
