yes, exactly. But then I think, well, maybe not. I'm sure Sam did his share of saying "Anybody who died WASN'T innocent and deserved everything they got, and besides we had no choice." Certainly at the time, in the middle of the war, I don't think he was all that bothered about it. But later, in the night when he's trying to sleep, I can see some of those faces coming back.
