Avoidance of Fic Writing 101

I have a ficathon fic due in, uh, two weeks, and I have only 1300 words written. So of course, I'm not writing it.

So here's a quick lesson in how you too can avoid writing fic.

First, do your taxes. Joy. I have a program, and you would think it would make it easier. Which it does, except -- I need to put one tiny thing on a form though the program doesn't HAVE a good way to input it. If I did it by hand it'd be easy. I'm probably going to get audited because I did it wrong and yet it makes zero difference to my tax situation. bah

Second, after sending taxes, edit something else.

Third, get stuck on editing, because this line sucks and I have no better way in mind to fix it.

Fourth, whine to lj and poke about on flist.

why I could indeed. However, at this very moment, I am breezing along in unstuck fashion on my ficathon fic (doubled my words! WOOT!) When I get stuck again, then I'll see what I can do, especially since I owe Shadow like whoa.
