Facts about my new washer/dryer:
- they use less water and energy. which is good, of course, and why we bought them. (and also the others were old and gross)
- however, they have a CRAAAAAZY amount of options. This thing washes clothes, not flies jet fighters, but you wouldn't know it from the front panels.
- switching from top loading to front loading has also exposed that the floor is not as solid as it probably should be. So, if in a year's time, I write about the wash machine falling through my floor, you'll know it started here!
- I'm also crazy in love with the SONG IT PLAYS to tell you everything's done. It's so happy and bouncy! hee

There was a truck that parked near the hotel I stayed at the first time I was in Jordan. Every day at 4:30, it would back up, and it played the most AMAZING SONG as it backed up. If I ever hear that song again, I'll probably break something jumping up to chase after it. ;)
(There was another truck in Amman that sold propane and played a song. I can never think about it when I am trying to, but it reminds me of being too hot and in the best library in the world, watching the truck drive up and down the hill...)

This is a little tune, not a full song, really, but it's so cheerful!

Yes, I am that nerdy... but I'm looking for a new washer and dryer (my current one is old and cheap and left behind by the previous owners of my place apparently for good reason... it takes 2 hours to dry one load of delicates. It's insane and wasteful and ruining my clothes.) so I'd love to know what you picked out and if you like it!

Y'know, if they'd had that option I would totally have paid the extra. (hubby, not so much *g*)

My requirement for a washer was that I wanted the biggest top loader available (the front loaders hurt my back as I'm tall enough to have to hunch over to use it).

Damn, I really want snazzy new fighter jet appliances that I can't have now. ;)

Professional advice: pay the extra money and get the stuff Tide makes to keep out mildew and smells. You use it once a month. This isn't by any means a universal problem, but we do hear it from time to time in our satisfaction surveys. (Not nearly as much as people complaining about CFLs though :D)

heh, I haven't lost any CFLs for a little while! Though I admit I laugh whenever I see them claim they have ten year warranties...
