I know I say it all the frakking time, but I need the weekdays just to recover from my weekends. Now that school has started, we've started up the birthday party train again. So we had two of those, getting new tires, two parties, and then driving out eastward for an hour to meet family cuz my father in law is in town.

Kidlet got a pilot bear from his grandpa - it's got a little bomber jacket and goggles and a little scarf. SO CUTE.

Ok, this isn't a review of the episode. But once again I have to LAUGH MY FUCKING ASS OFF that Dexter is filmed in my backyard. With MY tv anchors pretending they are anchors in Miami. bwah! SHOW, you used to film more in Long Beach, mix it up!

We went to see it Friday. And while the scenery is beautiful and I will never not love the humanity in Henson Creature Shop creatures, the script was... blech. The main problem I had with it was, I felt there was a lot of emotional whiplash -- one mooment everything's happy, then someone will get angry or mean or creepy.

Plus there were parts that seemed unnecessarily brutal for a property based on a PICTURE BOOK.

And also, I would've liked to hear Max say he was sorry to his mom at the end.

But that boy? Is really good. I'm sure we'll be seeing him again.

OMG Jennifer Carpenter, YOU SLAY ME with your awesome.

Love that Rita's catching a clue.

Did not need to see Quinn and his girlfriend (though it will never stop being funny seeing local anchors on the tv pretending to be anchors someplace else).

Baustista and Maria fighting crime together is pretty awesome though.

Not exactly amazed at the revelation of Trinity's true life, given that this show is all about thematic mirroring, but still, cool moment.

Next week!

Also, U2 is playing the Rose Bowl RIGHT NOW and I AM NOT THERE. *sad*

Oh, and I'm feeling kind of porned out. I know, hard to believe, but yeah. I keep trying new prompts, and it's all so FLAT. bah.
