I vote for Tory in the goo tub too...her forlorn looks of "damn, I really am useless aren't i?" make me think she'd prefer it. And it'd be so much more dramatically relevant to have Sam with the rest of the Final Five when they're fighting against the man who screwed them almost from the beginning.
Speaking of that, I didn't get the feeling that RDM was trying to imply that Sam wanted to be a hybrid. Why do that after he had Kara ready to do the mercy kill like in Lay Down Your Burdens? It would ruin that moment, plus her discomfort about it in this ep too. I did find the flashback speech totally in character for Anders, because I love his thinky moments like in Taking a Break or He That Believeth In Me. Same principle, just slightly different words and themes.

But poor Leoben. I'm gonna be mad if he's not in the finale. Same if I don't get happy Agathons in the finale. Those are two things I do actually care about, where most other things I can see several acceptable endings.
