lizardbeth: (Baal eating)

I had been planning to mutter about the Twelve Colonies and distribution of wealth, and then I was going to post on SG-1: "Family Ties". (I'm not usually into femslash -- but that? oh yeah. somebody's SO going to be writing that).

Instead, I'll just talk about blimps. Yes, I have now learned, because of the short person, more about blimps and airships than any normal person should know. For instance, did you know that the Graf Zeppelin, the humunguous sister ship of the Hindenberg, circled the globe in 1929? When it landed in Los Angeles thousands of people came to visit it because it was such an attraction. Now you know. *g*

It makes me think of SG-1, and how near-Earth tech is 'alienized" by giving them blimps (particularly Kelowna, but IITC Pangar had blimps too).

Speaking of Kelowna, thank you to everyone who voted in the Sam poll. Y'all helped me clarify my thoughts a lot. Even if it ended up a tie.

Zeppelins remind me: Geriatric Indy and the Fountain of Youth. I love Indiana Jones as much as the next fangirl, but damn, am I the only one that thinks that ship sailed a long time ago? C'mon, this is the man who was mistaken for a derelict by security, when they found him sleeping in Calista Flockhart's car on the studio lot... I'm just sayin'....
