While I wait impatiently for my Yuletide assignment to get to my Inbox, I would like to point out that writing Hybrid dialogue is a very special circle of hell.

Right now a lot of it looks like this:

blah blah blah blah IMPORTANT PROPHECY OF DOOOOOOM blah blah blah

And that is a direct quote from my notes! :)

(It's like that famous "Far Side" about what dogs hear...)

ETA: OH! I caught the preview for next week's Californication. Mind you, I don't even watch this show but...

CKR and Natasha McElhone are totally SMOKING HOT TOGETHER. *ahem*

I have the solution. They hyrbid quotes scripture, literally every bit, turn page, end of line, end of stanza. All of that cut with ship's functions.

"Line four, the man will walk along the edge of ruins. Airlock breached, sealing rupture. No beast of burden will touch the ground for it is sacred."
