I must be the only person who is compulsive about canon timelines when I write AUs. I spent some 20 minutes today, trying to figure out how long Occupation - Exodus took. It's a frakkin AU! It makes no difference! I can make it as long as I want! *shakes head at self*

Eventually I'm going to have to figure out where to break the fic into parts. It's long and getting longer. BUT! I think I have a name finally, which is always nice to find early, rather than right before posting!

Let's see, in other writing news-- I have 1000 words of my [livejournal.com profile] sg_rarepairings fic done. Which isn't DONE, but at least I have some of it. It's sort of ... unexpectedly brutal (it's a pretty harsh romance) and so it's harder to write than I thought.

You're not the only one. I am *incredibly* picky about canon in my AUs, even to the point where I'll dig up transcripts so I can get all of the dialogue in a particular scene *except* the bit I'm deliberately changing right. :-) You might say I do more research on those stories than I do on the canon universe ones.

I am not alone in my crazy! *clings*

I have transcript sites bookmarked. And I own DVDs primarily for research - I rarely pull them out to watch for fun, but I'll pull them out to check something. All for something that I could change and no one would care except me...

We are possibly neurotic. :)

You are totally not alone. I know for a fact [livejournal.com profile] palmetto has large swathes of the Daybreak-verse planned out.
