Happy Birthday,
greycoupon! Lucky you, having a birthday over DragonCon. Wish I was there to help you celebrate!

But no, I was not at DC, and I couldn't watch Continuum with other non-con-goers IM fun, because I was buying a new t.v!
HOWEVER, all was not lost, because the t.v. displays ran a very nice ad for Continuum. The attack on Earth and Ben Browder (doing the intro to the ad) looked VERY FINE. Especially on multiple screens!
man, I can NOT wait to watch my Blu-Ray Continuum on our new screen! Just the little bit I saw is going to put my computer screen (which is very nice, but not enormous) to shame.
Sadly, it'll be a week until it's delivered. In the meantime, I get to talk to our cable company about how much it's going to cost to get the high-def package too. joy. But the t.v.'ll come on my bday, so yay for b'day presents!

Congratulations!
Bestest SG1 scene I've watched in high definition was when Teal'C thumps Arkad during the episode Talion in the 10th season; Continuum'll look glorious. High definition is fantastic for action scenes and stuff in outer space. The Planet Earth series is another good series to watch in high-definition.
Check out high definition over the air antennas (a/k/a the old-school uhf antennas) if your tv has an ATSC tuner - most areas in the states can get some awesome stations for free.
