Note to self: When washing the school's laundry, which this week contains many red things because of Chinese New Year, do not add Rugrat's underpants. Cheap polyester does not hold dye worth a diddly.

We went to a Whale Watching fair, and among other things (not including real whales, which were cavorting in the fog, probably, but no one could see them) there was a bird rescue booth. They had a BALD EAGLE. I've seen them in zoos, but that's a big damn bird up close. It was very alert/slightly spooked. I wouldn't have wanted to be the one who'd have to take it off its perch at the end of the fair. But SO pretty.

There was also a marching band there from a local high school, in very flashy black with gold trim uniforms. They would fit right into my Baal-overlord Apoca-fic! I'm unreasonably amused by that.

Bwahahaha! I love when other people frak up their laundry, if only because it means I am not alone in that section of the universe. :P

Ooooh, bald eagles are so pretty! I am jealous that you got to see one up close.

I knew I was in trouble when I lifted the lid to put another pair of pants in and THE BUBBLES WERE PINK! Luckily the undies are only pinkish in comparison with something truly white. *phew*

They had the eagle tethered to a perch (just about knee height). There was a rope to cordon him off about six feet around. But other than that he was right there. It was cool.

lol
Pink bubbles, for sure a sign that something is amiss.

So. cool.
I need to go to the zoo once it opens again this season, I miss seeing cool wildlife.
