My mom was in the hospital for two days - turned out to be a bad reaction to her diabetes medication, but they were acting like it might be a heart attack. Luckily she's close so I could see her and not just fret from far away.

Of course, now she's pissed that no one even seemed to consider the possibility of the medication for two days and did all these scary tests on her heart and looking for blood clots in her lungs, etc. So I suspect her doctor is going to get an earful when she goes in later! So we went to an expensive place for dinner last night to celebrate that she is, in fact, just fine. So phew!

But I haven't been very inspired to do much of anything, while I've been waiting.

Watched the new LOST "The Constant" last night.

And so funny how I just saw Not!Desmond on 'Perfect Romance' and here was Henry Ian Cusick looking the same. hee. If I'd seen this episode first I would've recognized him in the movie right away.

Oh Desmond. Your Scotish Highland Regiment training, in the rain. *snerk* I feel you, man - and I only had to walk to uni, not do crunches in the mud.

"Unstuck in time" - I even gave them the phrase before anyone said it. oh, B5, how you continue to influence me years later. But still, very cool, how they ran with the concept here. Explains so many things so nicely.

Desmond and Penny KILLED me at the end. I even knew it was coming, and people had teared up, so I thought I was prepared. I WAS NOT. What a fabulously well-done scene. They both did well, but the editing could have killed it flat, but was just perfect.

of course, I can never let this pass -- my sister-in-law's high school in Honolulu is now doubling for Oxford. haha! good thing Queen Emma loved England, or there'd be no quasi-gothic place to film in all of Hawaii.

Jin and Sun are back next week! yay! And they're finally letting Daniel Dae Kim speak some more English. (of all the mystical properties of the island, accelerated English acquisition really could be one of them, Damon; it'd be okay!) Of course, he's probably going to be the next to die, given the DUI Curse. :(

Looks like Juliet gets to be scary some more too, which is awesome. She does that so well. She and Sayid could totally rule the island, if they wanted.

Yay, a little fandom squee helps my mood immensely!

ETA: Also, that 8 min What the Frak? BSG promo synopsis thing on IMDB? IS AWESOME. If you haven't seen it, go. now.

(It's also making me rethink whether those clips were 'leaked' on purpose or not. The timing of both these things together is... highly coincidental, if it's not deliberate... Maybe NBCU/Skiffy IS more clever than I think!)

Glad that your Mom's doing better.

Yeah, Dammit. After all that work to get Lost out of my system, I'm totally back into it again. I've never smoked, but this is reminding me of one of my loved ones trying to kick cigarettes. He keeps relapsing too.

I'm all about Desmond and Sayid, with a side of Juliet.

So glad your mom's okay. *meep*

And that WTF? promo? BEST THING EVAR!!!! Was that done by a fan???

Getting that end date and shorter seasons was the best thing that ever happened to the show, I think. There's just so much less WASTE. last season was just like a novelist serializing who has to put in a hundred pages of filler, because the publisher won't let him start the end-game. It just can't help but be boring and dragging. But now we've got the arc kick-started again.

Yep, Sayid and Desmond tend to make everything better. I was cool to Juliet at the beginning, but once she pretty much threw in with the Losties, she's been fun.

thanks, it was a bit scary, but turned out just fine. Stupid medical types. *grumble*

I don't think it's a fan thing - there's an ad for the DVD's at the end, so I'm pretty sure it's a promo. But whoever wrote it is brilliant. Everything important, and yet hilarious.

"very shocking." HEEEE!

The whole summary of the different Boomers and Sharons and Helo and Hera is so perfect.

I'm glad your mom is ok, it's amazing what people can miss when they don't check the simple things first. *kicks* I hope she gives the doc a good lashing! Are they going to switch her meds or is this a one-time-never-going-to-happen-again deal?

Eep! Sorry to hear about your mom - was she taking metformin (glucophage) by any chance?

& thanks for the link to What the Frak? I laughed my head off.

y'know, that sounds familiar, but I couldn't swear to it. It's something with a known side-affect of esophagalitis - and that's what she had, a sharp, continual pain in her esophagus, as though something had stabbed or scraped it. Not her heart at all.

You're welcome -- I want everybody to watch What the frak, since it's just so brilliant.
