It's been a long time...

I'm trying to convert a dvd file into a watchable avi file. I used to do that more often, making clips and rips and such, but not for awhile. So I clipped out the part I wanted and set it to render. And oops, forgot to compress it. I now have a 12 GB (no typo!) file for only about 7 minutes of video. What's awesome though? It STILL only took about ten minutes to render the whole thing. *jumps up and down, smooches new computer*

I'm sure there are new programs out there for doing these things, even better and faster, which I should go find out about. But for now, I'll stick with what I know. Sort of.

I suffered a bout of insanity and logged in to Skiffy and made a few newbie posts. It cracks me up that my rank is "mansquito"!

It's always so weird to start out on a board, all new and shiny.

A lot of names I recognize, but some I don't. If some of you have different usernames between here and Skiffy, but I know you, please let me know you're the same person! I'd hate to have to HEAD DESK three weeks from now when I finally figure it out on my own...

Do you have VirtualDubMod? It'll probably cut your 12 gig file down to like 12 megs. :P

Good gods woman you're joining the madness? *shudder* Are you going to be popping into the Stargate areas? If so watch out for DebraDwnSth, just trying to give you fair warning, not scare you away. I hang in the Ronon thread a bit but other than that I stay away from there because of her.

Oh and I'm in the same boat as Sbabe and grey. :P
