Dragon*Con. Not.

Some of you know that I was planning to go to D*C this year. Had my ticket and everything. But.

Several things have conspired against it.

- Rugrat's total and complete inability to handle even the smallest of cons (he freaked out in the hall of a small GI Joe con last weekend, where the only costumes were olive drab...). So he would definitely have to stay home/not at the con.
- spouse's reluctance hardening into negativity.
- work uncertainty
- and to top it off, the parents are going to move into their new house that first week and will need my help.

I am bummed. I was looking forward to meeting so many people that I know online! :(
And I'm sorry for any plans that will have to be changed because I'm backing out.

BUT:

I still want to Con-a-go this year, and I'd love to do the BSG/Stargate creation con in Burbank if other peeps are going to be there!

(It's at the same time, same hotel this year! mmm-- Gold for BSG PLUS day pass to see Cliff again... boy, is hubby going to be sorry...)

I know! Me too! *whacks him too* At least it sounds like the contingent'll be relatively large this year anyway. You all must post good pics and stories, and help me live vicariously again!

Next year I'll buy plane tickets for all of us right away. Then there'll be no foot dragging or last minute conflicts. So the costume will sit under my bed some more, unless I wear it to Burbank again in Nov. *sigh*

He's turned into such a con 'ho, it wouldn't surprise me at all if he does both, either officially or just crashes Burbank again. If he does, we NEED our scary stalkerette Sekrit Cabal T-shirt/patch, dude. ;)

Aw, that sucks. I hope you get to go to the Burbank one. I'd love to but it's too far away. :P But there's a Stargate creation con in NJ in November which I'm attending... now to make the creation people do a BSG one... :P

Cliff was at last year's too in NJ. But I only went for 1 day 'cause Michael Shanks had cancelled and he was one of the main reasons for me going (and Jason Momoa - who I did meet). So, I missed Cliff. But this year I'm going for all 3 days. :)

He's awesome. I liked Baal before, but man, after seeing him, it's a full-on crush. And I seriously could listen to him reading the phone book - that voice, GUH!

But I can say that I got my crush on Jason through meeting him as well -- so maybe I'm just easy. :D

Dayum. I'm a gonna have to check my savings account and see whether SkyBus or Southwest has the better price into Burbank.

YES! I suspect Creation are going to be total prats and not permit cross visits (like say, let gold pass holders for one show buy autographs for the other -- though there may be sneaking opportunities...), BUT most certainly both guests will be mingling about together!

(I'm also wondering whether the Breakfast and/or cabaret might be a big Ole Mingle Party... )
