well this sucks... And B5, which doesn't

I was bidding on the tunic which JR Bourne was wearing when Martouf was killed that was up on ebay. I was winning the past two days, having -- I thought -- been crazier than outbid everyone else with what I was willing to pay for a torn shirt.

And then?

In the last two minutes of the auction? When I was off dealing with my tantrum-throwing child, no less? Someone swooped in and TOOK IT AWAY!

Well, I guess I won't be stalking JR to sign it after all. Bummer.

In other news, I spent much of my day watching B5. I realized I hadn't actually seen any of it for years and it might be nice to watch a few eps, since I'm writing the crossover crack!fic that has TAKEN OVER MY BRAIN.

Man, I still love this show. True, there are rough spots, and the effects are a bit primitive, but ... still. Sinclair PWNS. OMG.

I've figured out exactly how B5 and BSG 'verses work together. And I know how the Cylons fit into the Shadow War. And, and, it's all very exciting.

I'm just trying to decide how much AU for B5 I should go. I've always wanted to do, and have done bit of, Sinclair-stays-on-B5 in S.2 AU. But I don't know... too far?

As much as is needed. Yes.

I... should watch more B5. Like, y'know, the last four episodes I'm missing. Hrm...

hm. it can go either way -- either Sinclair stays (even more wacky AU) or he goes (follows in the footsteps of B5 canon, with a BSG twist).

Replicating B5 canon strikes me as kinda boring. I just don't know how far people are willing to follow, y'know?

Too bad about the prop, that would have been nice. The nicest thing I have is a Kirk, Spock and McCoy on the transporter pad signed by all three actors.

I can't waut for the next installment of your fic

I frakkin' HATE eBay snipers. I've lost several things I wanted to the bastards. *grr*

[identity profile] lizardbeth-j.livejournal.com 2007-03-08 07:21 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah. GRRRRR. I don't think I would've tried to block them anyway, since my max really was pretty much my max, but not even having the option since I couldn't be at my computer was especially annoying. Well, I hope at least it was a real fan who bought it and not a reseller.

It wasn't me. I had seriously considered bidding on that, but in the end I decided to wait until a non-stained one gets posted.

[identity profile] lizardbeth-j.livejournal.com 2007-03-08 07:18 pm (UTC)(link)
Whoever it was wanted it very badly, because I know what I put as my maximum and theirs had to be much higher to have the confidence they could take it in the last two minutes of the auction. I'm thinking either hard-core JR fan (in which case, yay, for them), or reseller (BOO HISS).

That listing did make me suspect the show cannabilized the rest of his outfit for use later, because otherwise why NOT have the whole package with his shoulder pad and stuff? It did seem a little odd that it was only the shirt. So I wonder if we'll get "Random Background Tok'ra in desert uniform from Allegiance" later, but will include some of Martouf's pieces? That'd be cool.

[identity profile] rosiethehobbit.livejournal.com 2007-03-08 07:49 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, Martouf had to have at least two shirts. The other one wouldn't have been torn up and stained like that. So maybe they are planning on selling that entire outfit later.

Awww, sorry to hear you didn't get it--will keep an eye out for other Martouf items for you to stalk him with.

hee! You're so good to me! *g*
