TEN FANON FACTOIDS - Round One
If you wanna give me a name, here's where you leave it.
In no particular order, ten "facts" about:
SAM:
1. Earth!Sam was a programmer and he was the one who had the breakthrough that made the Centurions sentient.
2. He was the first of the Five to embrace God.
3. He knew John was going to do something, but was too late to stop him.
4. He had faith that Kara's destiny wasn't complete after she died in the storm, but he didn't actually believe she would return until he saw her standing there on the deck.
5. Something about Tory felt familiar and drew them together, but it also didn't quite feel right.
6. Every time he opened his mouth to tell Kara that he was a Cylon, he remembered her joke about shooting him, and even though he knew she wouldn't do it, he believed the revelation would destroy them anyway.
7. He knows the main reason the C'Bucs took him was for his looks, not because he was a great player. He was good, and he was a good team captain, but he over-thought the game too much.
8. He never slept with Jean, though everyone thought they were frakking back on Caprica.
9. Of the eight models, Leoben was his favorite and purposefully programmed to counter John.
10. (Since
nicole_anell gave me this one.... *G*) Had canon gone a little differently, he would have been Caprica's lover, not Tigh. (and in fact, that fanon was part of the inspiration for Thea!Six in Ariadne).
TALIA:
1. Fake!Talia was attempting to infiltrate the underground railroad, when a well-timed Ranger warning got them clear
2. She was freed by Lyta
3. She joined the Rangers, keeping on Minbar where she could learn to be herself again.
4. After the Shadow War, she joined the war against PsiCorps to repay her debt to Lyta.
5. She met Susan around that time again, and it was painfully awkward.
6. Talia refused to join the reformed PsiCorps and returned to Minbar.
7. She dreams of Jason Ironheart, and wonders if he's visiting her.
8. Her telekinetic power never amounted to more than parlor tricks. Except once.
9. She's friends with John Matheson.
10. She's one of the few who knows the secret of Sinclair, and she heard Valen's 'voice' while in Tuzanor when there was danger to Delenn.
DEREK:
1. Derek is the leader of the LA Resistance in the AU!Future (from the finale)
2. Derek was taken prisoner as a child and is the genetic basis of Marcus Wright in the movieverse (No, I don't know how, just roll with it)
3. Derek didn't know how to feel about Sarah - she alternately frightens him, attracts him, and repels him because of Kyle.
4. He admires John Connor of the future, and hates his guts.
5. Derek remembers Cameron fucking him in the basement. He's never dared ask Cameron if she remembers that, too, but he thinks she does. The worst part was that she was better than Allison.
6. He didn't kill Jesse.
7. He came back to stop Judgment Day, but the longer he was in the past the more inevitable he believed it was.
8. Every day after he came to the past, he wanted to go see his mother. He never did.
9. He can't get over how stupid people are about machines in the modern era.
10. While he missed real food in the future, he finds that he kinda misses eating rats in the past.
KYLE REESE, from the alternate future:
(much of this is cribbed from my fic "Numbered Days" since that's where I came up with most of it)
1. Kyle is utterly loyal to Derek and is his field commander (See Derek #1)
2. He has nightmares about Century that continue to this day.
3. During their captivity in Century, when he thought Derek might die and leave him alone, was the only time he's ever given up to despair.
4. Until recently, Kyle focused more on the fight than relationships.
5. He's in a relationship with Allison that they're trying to keep casual, but it's too late.
6. He wishes Derek had fallen for Kate instead of Jesse.
7. He hopes that he'll father a child someday.
8. He watched his mother die saving him and Derek.
9. But because he never knew what happened to his father, he wonders if his father is still out there somewhere.
10. When drunk he'll belt out old songs from High School Musical - mostly because it makes Derek laugh.
DEAN:
1. He loved John, as a son should, but he loves Bobby as his dad more.
2. If Castiel were in a woman's body, he'd've tried to sleep with her ages ago, host be damned. So he knows he can't really throw stones at Sam for Ruby (at least not that part).
3. While he was away from Sam, he read the rest of Chuck's books to try to understand Sam better.
4. He hopes Castiel's mission to find God is more successful than his own to kill Lucifer. He's pretty sure God'll be found only when He chooses to be, however.
5. The best dreams are the ones where he goes with Tessa.

That's true in the Final Five non-canon comics, which have some good ideas among the strange ones. Leoben was designed as a counter to John, and D'Anna to be in between them.
10. (Since nicole_anell gave me this one.... *G*) Had canon gone a little differently, he would have been Caprica's lover, not Tigh. (and in fact, that fanon was part of the inspiration for Thea!Six in Ariadne
I was so looking forward to that. Tricia said Caprica would have a fight that ended in sex and then photos of them sparring appeared. It seemed so obvious.
I mean, the basis for it being a good idea amounts to them being the single hottest male Cylon and single hottest female Cylon, she saved his life that one time, and them both being romantically angsty, but that's something.

Actually, they've got a lot of parallels in my eyes. They've got these wild lovers that they can't stop loving, no matter how much it hurts, but their choices to stay are thoughtfully chosen. In fact, they're two of the most "thinky" characters, at least philosophically speaking. They do these horrible things at times, but yet have a solid moral core and though they aren't afraid to rebel (and lead), they don't make a habit of rocking the boat. And they may think a lot, but they're not solely intellectuals; they have intensely physical sides, both sexual and warlike, that don't conflict with the rest of them.

#9 and #10 - *hearts you, hearts personal canon, etc.* There needs to be much more Sam/Leoben and Sam/Caprica fic. Seriously.
#2 is something I hadn't really considered, but it's interesting. What makes you think that? I've always thought of Sam as more agnostic than anything, since he seems comfortable with the idea of religion (and especially it turning out real), but unlike Kara we don't see him actively participating at all. Other than saying "gods", do we have any religious indications at all? I know that's not evidence either way, but I'm curious what your reason for your perspective is.

For #2, I think yes, the Sam we know is agnostic in what little we've been given. But in the backstory for the Five I kind of have in my head, one of the things that #1 leads to is a disillusionment with the LOK, especially if his Messenger was anything like Head!Six, she was probably priming him with God already, even before the war. And then finding the Centurions of the Colonies found their own way to sentience AND God, I think that'd be a powerful lure, if he didn't particularly believe in the LOK in the first place.

"They" meaning me. :)
(so maybe, OTOH, maybe you shouldn't, cuz LOK know I have plenty to write the next two weeks as is!)

NO, I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT YOU'RE TALKING ABOUT. "pornbattle"?

It'd be funny if Tory was the least impressed by the whole God thing of the Five. Given that she latched onto the idea first when she was having her existential crisis and later to justify what happened with Cally, but seemed, shall we say, less than true faith-having in her scene with Ellen in the extended Daybreak.
no subject
Ha! That makes a lot of sense to me that Tory's faith is situational, if not completely self-serving. So I could see her jumping on the bandwagon after the others do (esp Galen), but never really believing in it.
OTOH, since she had a Messenger, I think that would tend to give a person proof that "something" is out there, since at that point it's not simply a matter of faith, it's just a question of what deity/force/whatever it is. But I guess believing in "something" is still not the same as believeing the Colonial Centurions are RIGHT.

Talia! She was totally freed by Lyta. ys.
Sam. 8. HAHAHAHAHAH. yes.
10. I miss this fanon! It was going to make 4.0 so twisted and wrong for the otp!
no subject
So, since I never let any good fanon go to waste, I wrote in Thea. Cuz "twisted and wrong" is totes my mantra. *g*
