lizardbeth: (Vala - oops)

oops...

I, um, might have accidentally on purpose bought myself Sam's Viper name plate at the auction. It was sort of a lark. I didn't think the bidding would top out there, since they all went much higher last time. And then I went off to brunch and didn't even think of it until I just looked online. (and I very nearly went for the pyramid backstop just because it wasn't expensive.)

well, happy mom's day to me, I guess!

I think MrLiz would like me to get a less expensive hobby soon, though. :)

****

Happy Mother's Day to the other moms on my flist! Hope you had a good one today, too.

I got breakfast in bed, lunch out, roses, and the cutest handmade card you've ever seen.

And a Viper plate for my ever-growing shrine.

Were the prices in general lower this time around? I'm kind of curious. And that's a hell of an oops!

I didn't see most of it, and not the costumes which would be the most directly comparable, but my overall impression was less, yes. The name plates were less, for sure. A few of the Colonial flags went for less than a thousand, which I don't think happened before. Though there were still crazy people willing to shell out big bucks for bits of set dec, so... maybe 20% under what they (woulda) went for in Round 1? (at a guess)

I KNOW. OOPSIES.

Yeah. There were some mad bargains today. Also some crazy shit: One of Kara's paintings (the one with the partial mandala) sold for $16,000 (Alec, the CEO of Propworx, bought it), and the BSG sign from the CIC went for $15,000, IIRC -- somewhere in that neighborhood, anyway.

I, personally, left my bidding paddle in my suitcase so I could not bid today, since yesterday I may have acquired some, er, Cylon raider guts. Maybe.

Alec bought it? ha. I was wondering. Good to know that buyer's premium markup is going to a good use, I guess. *g*

And it was probably smart to leave your paddle in your room after the Cylon Raider guts. *nods* I saw you on the simulcast by the way, when they'd show the - just the back of your head, but I've become QUITE the expert lately.

I loved it when the auctioneers would pause and wait for me to tell them how to pronounce something.

Michael was there briefly yesterday, and Hogan and Luciana came back today -- I got a picture of them together and also some of Luciana in the Viper.

Happy moms day! and yay you!

I would have so for the back stop if shipping wasnt an issue.

Instead I got the pyramid board game and Sam's guitar neck
