Bummer. I know I write odd stuff, but I expected a bit more of an overlap than just ME. Spn fandom (hell, Castiel fandom) is enormous, but I guess I overestimated Anders' appeal in the general fannish population (beyond our narrow BSG little corner I mean). poor Sam.

It's a sad little tale, but I like it. (PG for one rather chaste kiss, if you're wondering. Or if you're not! *g*) *pets fic and ever-shrinking fandom* If you don't know who Castiel is, but you don't care about being spoiled for Supernatural, you can still read it, since Sam doesn't know who he is either and so I conveniently have to tell you ALL ABOUT HIM as he helps Sam find his destiny.

Or not. It's okay if not. That's the curse of the weird-fic writer, sometimes I go a place few people will follow. I know. Oh well, it encourages me to get cracking on my Gateverse Rarepair fic, so there's that. I need to rewatch Continuum and get into the right head-space, where questions of religion are decidedly less supernatural and more alien.

And the "gods" wear more black leather. yum.

Otherwise, I've been busy with the usual dull RL stuff. Watching our savings evaporate like everyone else. Plus my allergies are kicking my ass with all the variable-warm-wet-cool-warm-dry-make-up-your-mind weather lately. Even the plants are confused about what to do.

It's on my reading list! I was on board as soon as I saw Sam and Castiel! I just haven't had a chance to give it the attention it deserves yet. :(

no, it's okay. I amended that it's really the DEAD SILENCE from the spn side that surprised me. I know many of the bsg people are busy and stuff, but the Castiel comm has 700 members. I figured I'd get a few of them to check it out. But, nope. too weird I guess.

The SPN fandom sometimes seems to be a little... insular, for all that it's frakking HUGE. My last SPN vid garnered all of 3 comments? And I think one of those was a reply that I made? And I thought it was a pretty good vid. *shrug*

Wait a minute. Castiel (in SPN, anyway) has existed all of 3 eps? And there are 700 MEMBERS TO HIS COMM???? *meep*

I rounded up, but there are officially 622 members. 622. And it was only created on 9/18.

I don't watch Supernatural, so I wasn't sure I'd get it. Is it general enough that I'll understand?

I think so. It takes place immediately post-Revelations and only crosses the one character Castiel over. He introduces himself to Sam, so you get all you need as far as knowledge goes. He's real, for the purposes of the fic, not a dream or anything. I twist BSG cosmology a bit - but I do that all the time, anyway. :)

Read it! And really liked it. I actually am a fan of both shows, though, I'm less "fannish" about SPN then I am about BSG.

My mind boggles that there are 700 members of a Castiel comm, for a character who was only just introduced. Woah.

and yeah, there's A LOT of members on that comm. Made me realize how truly large Spn has become. and how small BSG is. *sniff*

I'm bookmarking it to read it this weekend. I just have a weird aversion to most slash + a hard time getting into fic when I don't know the characters, + a hard time reading Sam with anyone but Kara OMG, + a lack of time. So it's me, not you babe, really. ;]

*whimper* My parents are in their 60s and it's all gone. On the one hand, for once I'm glad I'm a starving grad student with no assets to lose, on the other hand... I think I need to get a job so I can help them! If my dad wants to live with me needs to seriously change his views on politics AND CATS

I dithered over the pairing thing for a long time. And actually, I've changed it to gen. Because it's really not slash. (I said it originally because there is one kiss, but there's no attraction between them.) That's not what it's about = it's about Sam and his destiny. And as I said above, you get all the intro to the new guy that you need in the fic. If that helps?
