happy halloween!
Carved my pumpkin last night - thank goodness it's not a very complicated design this year because the pumpkin was horrible: very thick, tough HIDE, green fibers running along the ribs, plus really stringy flesh. blech. Not a good choice at all. But my Jack Skellington and Zero are still pretty cute. Hubby's Batman turned out well, and Rugrat's own Jack-o-lantern design is pretty cool.
But I have to say, carving pumpkins and plotting which Halloween candy to buy for the trick-or-treaters, is a bit surreal and freaky while watching Supernatural, and the episode starts with RAZOR BLADES IN HALLOWEEN CANDY. *shudders to infinity*
"it's the great pumpkin, Sam Winchester".
SO YES, SAM IS LINUS. c'mon, fandom, it's not that hard.
First, I'm wondering if they pronounced Samhain wrong, on purpose, because it's referring to a demon in the show? Sort of to set it apart maybe? Or nobody put the pronunciation in the script, and nobody on-set was the wiser.... (I wonder if we'll get another apology from Kripke about it, *snerk*)
Ok, NOW WE HAVE TWO ANGELS. WOOT! And one of them is even more badass and enjoys a good smiting. hee!
And thank you show for telling the fanbase that angels are NOT omniscient. I knew that, but certain members of fandom were getting all up in Castiel last time for not knowing something.
That last scene with Dean and Castiel? omg I could just rewind that a zillion times. Dear self, SLASHING ANGELS IS WRONG. Castiel's host agreed to host an angel, he did not agree to have hot sex with Dean (unless, y'know, he's still in there, and he has no objection, because really, who would?). BUT. man... I love, LOVE the way the two of them play off each other, how Misha just has the not-quite-human-but-so-INTENSE thing down COLD, especially when he's looking at Dean. guh. oh,and also, Dean is an angel's conscience, sort of? *boggles*
And verrrry interesting with Uriel and Sam, too. Warned him about using his powers, again. and that mob warning, of "when you're not useful, I'll smite you down." yes, because Sam's going to respond well to that....
Sam's fanboy response to Castiel - so excited to finally meet him - and then the inevitable crushing disappointment when he finds out that the angels aren't into the whole MERCY thing after all. mm, if it was a test for Dean, there might have been a strategic miscalculation with Sam, since the events here would seem to push Sam more toward Ruby and whatever her plans are, since Sam's certainly not going to be all wide-eyed and unquestioning of the angels now. Hopefully he remembers that the angels did give them time after all, which they didn't really need to do.
And "ask Dean about his time in hell...?" oh yes, CANNOT WAIT. In context, of how Uriel was all dismissive of getting Dean off his high-horse and last episode's implication of Dean being complicit in something bad -- DOES THAT MEAN DEAN TORTURED/TORMENTED OTHER SOULS IN HELL? was he on his way to becoming a demon himself? (since we know from Ruby that it happens)
eeeeeeeee!
anyway.
That disappearing trick just doesn't get old. A bit more believable when angels do it, than Batman, but still, *loves*
Interesting how we got another white-eyed demon like Lillith. I'm guessing that means some sort of demon hierarchy... so where would Yellow eyes fit? Certainly Sam had a lot more trouble exorcising Samhain than the low-level black-eyed ones. Since it seemed Sam had a headache and def had the nosebleed from forcing his powers, I'm betting this also strengthened his powers some more.
Which makes me wonder if he can or will exorcise one of the ANGELS later on. Or if Uriel is actually going to TRY to smite him, but Sam will be just as immune from the angels as he is from demons.
ok, gotta slip into my costume for the carnival at kidlet's school and go set up!
